Another from NJ

Hi,

I just picked up a 4Runner on 11/1/04 (monday night 10pm!)

I'm in E. Rutherford. I just broke 100 miles :D.

another New Jersey-ite here too… live 2 min from Princeton in a town called Plainsboro and i'm usually in Holmdel/ Redbank on the weekends… i'm def. gonna keep an eye out for any T4R.org stickers

i had a 2000 Sport but recently sold it, now just a 2004 V8 Sport in silver, stock except silverstars & a K+N filter…

also, i noticed there's another member that posts here that lives in West Windsor, which is the town next to mine… it's a small world for sure…

NOOB here checking in from NJ as well.... I live in Ewing which is right next to Trenton, work up near Newark and my girlfriend lives in Flemington so look for me in those areas and in between. Where can I get a club sticker? Any meets? I don't know if I will be taking my TR4 offroad since I still have my Wrangler but who knows.... Just wanted to say hey and hopefully I will see one of you out on the road.... :awais:

I think its definately time for a NY/Nj meet get together, hey Mark what do you think, you can bring one of the bimmers......

Aron, that is great idea. I will bring my mom's X5 only if you are willing to drive it!! Don't look at me! Feel free to pick it up at our house and you can even park your 4Runner in the garage!! :lmao: Anway, a "4Runner" meet sounds really good! Any ideas on a good place? I can only think of some local parks.

HOOTERS LOL.... They actually sponsored a Jeep meet for a bunch of us on jeepforum.com... I think involving food is a good idea.

Food is definitely a good incentive for people to come. Would this meet take place in NY or NJ?

I am definitely up for this so count me in. I actually became pretty good friends with some people from my Jeep forum, Jetski forum and my old RSX forum so meeting up with some of you would definitely be cool especially since I am a NOOB here.

Sounds like a "Hoot". I am hopefully in.....I am still trying to figure out the dang roads up here in NJ. So, if I don't make it, it means I am either deployed or just plain lost. Most likely the latter of the two will be the reason.

This sounds great. Seems like many of you are interested!! Now, what time is best for everyone? Also, any places? For me, any weekend through December and January are good (except holidays)!

Actually, I was talking to EdL04Sport through PM's about a meet last month. Nothing ever came through but we were both interested!!

Yeah...I'm still interested in getting together. Sorry Mark...work has been crazy! Like Mark, I should be good on most weekends in December and January. I was originally thinking that we should find either a park or a mall w/ a large parking lot. With the holidays coming up, a mall parking lot on a weekend might not be such a good idea. Any other suggestions?

Ed.

Don't worry about it!! I was busy with college stuff during the whole month of November. I never thought of the problems we might face in parking lots this time of year. Maybe we can meet at a restaurant then?

Restaurant would be good...food always brings the crowds out! The other places I thought of with large parking lots were Rutgers Stadium in Piscataway or possibly Great Kills Recreational Area in Staten Island (maybe even the parking lots at either Midland Beach or South Beach in Staten Island). The only negative with Staten Island are that all those lots are on the water and it may get pretty chilly this time of year.

Ed, those are some great ideas. Rutgers stadium would be GREAT for me because that is where I go to college. They also have a huge parking lot. Midland Beach or South Beach also would be a good place to meet. The Great Kills Recreational Area I am not familar with so I don't know. Personally, South Beach sounds the best to me!!

as far as places to meet… i'd like to cast a vote for: Harold's NY Deli

1st) it's centrally located at the Raritan Center (exit 10 of the NJTP, take 514 West, go about 1 mile and it's on your left)
+
2nd) they have gigantic food. sodas are no smaller than 32oz, 16oz roast beef sandwiches and a piece of cake weighs 4lbs… it's unreal. and yes, the food is super good. the Italian dishes are so-so, but the deli dishes are best! :D
+
3rd) they have a HUGE parking lot and we could keep the trucks off to the side and then chill there afterwards without being bothered.

just my 2¢…

That's a good idea too. It is centrally located right off I-287 and the NJ Tpk. Garden State Parkway is pretty close too.

Mark...cool. I graduated from Rutgers back in '95.

That sounds good too. I know where it is but never eaten there. I heard good things about it though! That could be our official meet place if it is good for everybody. Now we have to think about date and time.

Sounds like a good place.

I'm booked until the 2nd week of January (15th) though:( .

It'd be cool to check out other people's trucks.
