Another happy addition to the 5100/Fj family

It is now the best riding car I've ridden in. I can't believe how smooth it rides. The suspension is firm, but compliant. The biggest difference is when going over speed bumps, it doesn't go thought the shock's full range of motion. Anybody on the fence about this upgrade, just do it. What we did was 5100s all around with the fronts at .85 and a set of FJ front coils. Looks completely level and mean to me. These pics are quickies and I plan to do better and add the before and after measurements in a bit.

yea its a friend of mine, that picture just happened to be from cars and coffee in richmond. what part of VA are you in?

i ended up going with 255's and love the ride. really liking the look of a 32" tire

I wouldn't change anything on yours. Perfect the way it is. I'm a less is more kinda guy.
Those with factory wheels and tires hear a pop when pulling into parking spaces? Mine has done it for years. Haven't heard it since the install. It was also aligned. Could something have been off?

Which setting did you go with up front? (assuming you have the 5100's) looks higher than mine and the Op's (sorry, looked again and Op's looks just as high, are you both V6 runners?)

Awesome timing on this -- and thanks for posting. Will be doing the same with my FJ's and 5100's. Was tired of searching through that big thread to see what the .85 height would look like

How much did your MPGs change when you went with 255s? That's what I'm looking at doing.

I'm a 4.0. I didn't do rear FJs yet. Wanted to see if it settles a bit first. When my eye follows the running board, seems oh so slightly high to me. Need to measure everything first. I'm not afraid of doing them now based on the ride that I have.

they went down about 1mpg at most. im lifted now so that is also a factor. cant really give an mpg number because i dont do much highway driving.

i had the 255/70/18's on when stock and only had to move the fender liner up

Well, here's my preliminary numbers. 08 Sr5 4x4 4.0 with 5100s all around and FJ front coils only.

Before: LF 33 RF 33.5
LR 35.5 RR 36


After: LF 35 RF 35.5
LR 36. RR 36

I'm pretty stoked on how it all turned out. The passenger running board is spot on level front to back. The driver seems to be 1/8th front high with a half tank of gas. I figure 10 bucks of gas and a driver would make it perfect. Perhaps a jack might raise it up that little bit. Lol
