Another Moab Trip ***LOTS OF PICS***

yeah i didnt take any video this last weekend. I got too many projects going on with school, plus i havent even finished editing all the video we took from may.

Gosh, I love moab so much! But there has been so many more tourists coming every year now. I live like an hour from Moab, and we come up here alot to our grandparents. Ive grew up hiking and exploring everywhere around Moab since i was a boy. Its amazing over here. I cant wait to start going on trips like this. Is it safe for your 4runner to go on these trails? Do you ever damage any part of your 4runners? Does it cost anything or can you just go freely?

Just an FYI since it keeps getting repeated in this thread, the hot tub is Mickey's hot tub, not Mikey's. ;) There are two others that aren't nearly as deep or steep coming out of them.

Did anyone attempt Escalator? I can see lots of body damage in a T4R on that obstacle. I get goosebumps every time on that one in my CJ.

Not sure I would say it is safe exactly. There is a lot of potential things that could go wrong and make it quite dangerous. The best thing is that it can be as dangerous or safe as you make it. Moab has very easy trails that a stock 4runner can do, and it has trails that you shouldn't really take your IFS 3rd gen 4runner on. It's best to use your own judgement and if you don't feel comfortable doing an obstacle you probly shouldn't do it. YES, stuff will break. You can expect that. I usually carry two spare cv's, tie rod ends, etc. there is some threads on here that list good spare parts to keep with you. Some trails do cost money. Anything in the Sand Flats recreation area is like $10 for a day pass. There are ways around it. I've heard of people running hell's revenge backwards to get into the park without paying as the exit is outside the park. But seems kinda dumb to me. I'm happy to pay $10 to go in. Helps with maintenance etc.

Not on this trip. This thread is kinda old. Glen has attempted it. Almost made it too. Had to winch him up the last section. He was so close! But as you said, so close to some major body damage too! On a side note, you didn't happen to pull me over on I-25 at county line about a month ago did you? The officer said he had a 3rd gen too.
