My 17 year old friend just graduated high school and got his licence, his parents got him this runner about a month ago. I was sooo stoked to finnally have a actual friend with a 4runner, we were going to mod it and go to meets and what not then he runs it into a pole!!

Hes fine of course ( its a 4runner :biggrin2: )

Were talking about me buying the entire thing from him so i can swap out parts and sell off the rest and since it has the same engine even better.
00 base 4 cylinder 2wd auto about 210k miles all stock. Straight body besides the obvious and clean interior.
Already had a salvaged title before he owned it
No problems before the crash and still starts up. How much would you say would be a fair offer for the thing?

Imperial jade 2wd base model omfg! Can I come take a look at it once you're ready?

Honestly, 2wd base model, higher mileage, with a salvaged title, screwed core support/entire front end... $1k is generous.

Hows the hatch look? Definitely want lots of oak interior parts! Dude, having your own parts truck on the cheap is a dream. That ones even a 3RZ, epic win!

haha i thought of your ride the first time i saw this runner.
And i need to get a better look at everything, hes going to talk to his parents about the logistics of it all. The insurance is for sure not taking it. So it looks like i have a good chance on it depending on final price.
And if it happens ill forsure let you know! always wanted to see your rig in person anyways haha

This is why the only vehicle I'm ever buying my boy will be a bicycle. He can destroy a perfectly good car on his own dime.

punch your friend in the face and tell him to quit being a douche for me will ya, that's re****ed, no reason why you should hit a pole like that in a 4runner, if you buddy wants to be ken block tell him SUV's aren't made for that and he needs to be in a car, this is exactly what happens when mommy and daddy give you a nice vehicle as your first car and why every teenage boy should be given a $500 beater with foam padding duct taped to the entire outside , they are re****ed and a danger to themselves and society as a whole (i know i was a former teenage boy and would punch myself in the face back then if i could)...driving around in a $500 embarrassment-mobile would have taught him the pride of having a vehicle that nice......i'm glad your buddy is alright and all but not sure how i feel about the potential gene pool he may create in the future. if it was my kid that would be the last car i bought him, he had his chance at a nice car and blew it, back to the Schwinn for you bud....

also this is alot different then the other threads with dead runners on them, the other trucks didn't die from stupidity, this one did and it's not like they are making any more of these type of 4runner.... glad to see another one go down like this....not.....can you guys tell this thread pisses me off a little after what happened to mine and a few others like me recently....

If you are that unconfident in your own driving skills that you don't believe your offspring will decent driving skills, then i completely agree. And you better not let them drive yours or your wires vehicle as they could wreck it too.

But if you're saying what I think you're saying, you're a fool if you think that any amount of excellent teaching will trump a 17 year old boy's impulsiveness and lack of judgement. Teenagers wreck cars, you dork, that's why it costs more to insure them. Or did you miss that memo? :lmao:

Im with you on all of this, Trust me i already :flamethrwoer2: on him.
Although he was really happy he got a runner he had been talking about
getting one for months and even asked if id sell mine ( imagine that...never!). He actually appreciated the truck, i guess he just doesent have driving skills yet
 
I'm glad it was a pole he plowed into, and not a person standing there waiting to cross the road.

Tell your buddy to pull his head out, and pay attention when driving. He (and anyone in the vicinity) might not be so lucky next time.
 
210 k 2wd 4runner is not worth much. May be $800.

I wouldn't give $400 for it. It would cost money to pick it up, break it down and part it out.





This is a great reason why you shouldn't text and drive at the same time.
 
I cannot believe someone actually took the time to spray black the rims on a Ford E150 van. Really? Who does such?

That said, get some bluetooth in the 4runner. Your buddy needs to get a job to buy himself another 4runner.

The person I bought my all terrains on Craigslist had one of those with black rims and even a small lift and to add to that they had 2, both exactly the same. Now they have mud tires on them haha
