So, just to make sure this gets completely off topic, my buddy is picking up an expedition and we were looking to do exactly that, “raptorize” it. Apparently the front ends on the Expo’s are different, can’t even find castor corrected UCA’s for them. He’s limited to a Rancho lift strut or spacers.

OP, I’d just keep your current setup, but if you’re not happy with it then by all means! Gotta be happy with what you drive, however logical/illogical it may seem.

I'd keep the set up you have. Seems like the best of both worlds for what you do. The 4Runner is way better for most road trips and camping due to all the interior space. Maybe put some TLC into that Tundra with a lift and new wheels/tires.

haha. my garage has the mini fluorescent ones still.

Any half ton truck bed won't fit an 8' unless its a long bed anyways. crew cab long bed f150's are RAD IMO.

I concure. Well ... actually I prefer the long hood short deck look. Raptors have a 5.5” bed. They’re still kool, though. HAH! We be gettin’ off the subject, but we’re havin’ Fun.

I don't think the Raptor competes wirh 4Runner/Wrangler at all. They are completely different vehicles.

If you like the Raptor then maybe consider a Powerwagon. The Powerwagon is almost as powerful and more off-road capable. 14.5 inches of ground clearance stock! Solid axles. Better approach/departure angles. 10,000 lbs towing. Factory winch. Disconnecting swaybars. If I wanted a pickup to go off-road (which I didn't) I'd get a Powerwagon.

Having test drove a Raptor… I don’t think I would actually want to daily drive it living in the city. It’s such a big vehicle that it even makes my 2004 Silverado 1500 feel dainty in comparison. I know you can get used to driving the size but it’s still somewhat limiting in its own way.

The agility of the 4Runners overall size both on and off-road is something I value very much. I would love the Raptor as a “weekend” truck since I do like getting out to the open desert, and I feel that’s where it really shines, but for the money I can just get a dedicated OHV off-road toy instead.

You have a good diversity of vehical... I rather have than than just 1 fancy truck.

I have both, 11 trail and 14 roush raptor. Wife dives the 4r. Consider them some of the best 4x4 s available but they are totally different.

The raptor is a power house and owns the highway. Super fast. Serious pain to drive around town.
