:bravo: Well how did you like it? I see you did the actual Red Canyon Trail above the canyon and went down into the canyon. After the water hole did you continue out and through or back out to the trail head.
That's cool looks like another great day and photos taken out there always look so damn good especially the sunsets there.

I chickened out at the water hole and turned around :) Perhaps if I was out there with you guys and if I had a good spotter I could have been convinced to continue but the climb after that looked a bit daunting and I had no idea where these trails went. There was one side trail I took that had a couple steep descents on it that I was sure I'd have a hard time getting back up if I had to turn around... I didn't need my GF yelling at me too much :)

Oh yeah... the Nissan Frontier belongs to a buddy of mine who went with me. It's bone stock and barely has 1K on it so we didn't want to get too crazy with the wheeling. Neither of us have much in the way of hard core wheeling experience.

Daunting indeed...And after that first big long hill climb, the one you scoped out just past the water hole, well let's just say there's two more just like it right behind that you gotta go up til you get to the top. The video I posted in the Red Canyon Trail Thread shows the first hill climb being done by TheSentinel coming up through my dust cloud making it look easy and the second one I believe as well is in there.

Glad to hear you and your buddy enjoyed it...
So I'm not the only one that has one of those "don't set it off, cause you can't turn it off yelling noise makers" of a GF.
Yeah I understand.lol

Actually my GF is great.. she keeps it to herself unless things get *really* crazy. I was the one who was more worried about wondering where those trails went.

There's a trail in OC I mountain bike pretty regularly called Santiago Truck Trail. It's legally closed off to motorized vehicles by the US Forest Service but that doesn't stop the occasional guy in a Jeep from trying it. STT is like a roach motel - 4x4s check in but they don't check out. Two Jeeps tried it last year; one got stuck and slid down a ravine. It was unrecoverable and the vandalized remnants of it are still there. Another Jeep got stuck and was airlifted out by a chopper but not before being severely vandalized (glass smashed, parts stolen, etc). And just now, some doofus in a Mercedes ML320 managed to get stuck back there. It's already been vandalized. Bottom line - I don't want this to happen to me, so I err on the side of caution when it comes to stuff I don't know :)

Definitely up for more exploration in that area, maybe next time with you guys!
