Another "what is this" thread (no pics)

So yesterday I got under the truck to change the diff oil and relocate the breather. While I was under the truck w/o the spare tire in place, I noticed this black box that I first thought had something to do with lowering and raising the spare tire. After I looked at it closer I see it is part of the fuel system. idk what it is, I'm guessing charcoal canister or over flow tank. But more importantly I have been getting P0442 and P0440 and I think I found out why. There is a rats nest of fuel lines off the front of this box, there are a few large ones that a cracking and really need changed. (sorry couldn't get a pic with my camera, its too close)

So questions are
1. What is this box
2. Would these lines throw codes at me (P0442 & P0440)
3. What all size line will I have to get to replace these (only car so must have it all)

Ok, after spending some time on google (I know should of did it first) I was right in thinking it was the charcoal canister. so disregard question #1&2..... still need to know all the diff size hose that is in this mess. I probably have most of it, but I know I don't have the large ones and there the ones that really need replaced.
