Anti-theft system problem

I have a '94 4Runner. I love it, but the CD player doesn't work. I removed the old CD player/Tape Deck/Radio and was going to replace it. But, to make a very long story short I have reinstalled the original CD player. I disconnected the battery before doing any of this. Now, when I connect the battery and insert the key in the ignition the anti-theft system goes off. I've tried locking/unlocking the doors with the key and the alarm still goes off when I insert the key into the ignition. Any ideas? I'm going crazy driving my Focus.

I am not familiar with that specific alarm but my guess is that there might be a valet switch installed somewhere in the console(possible hidden underneath). If that is the case before you start the car, hold the switch down and then turn the key.
That should fix the problem. The only other thing I can think is that maybe a wire got crossed at some point, but if you just removed the original stereo, and then reinstalled it no wires should have been afftected. But there is a part to this story we don't know so I am not sure is that is the case or not.

problem fixed

I did in fact find a switch. First I took out the fuse for the horn so that the alarm didn't drive me crazy. Then I flipped the switch on way or the other and tried to start the car. In the second position I tried the car started and the alarm went off.

I've only had the car about 2 months now and I'm starting guess that it's an aftermarket alarm since there was nothing about it in my owners manual. Thanks.
