Any 4th Gen with shock replacement?

Just curious if anyone with 4th gen has replaced their original struts/shocks because of wear. How many miles did they last before replacement?

My '04 has 72k with original CT tires; mostly hiway driven and on average with 1-2 people. It's begun to squeal when cornering (most likely the CTs) but I've noticed the vehicle (especially the front end) is more bouncy going over bumps. Going over large bumps the front end sometimes bonuce up/down twice before settling. I haven't noticed any leaks in the shocks yet though.

My plan is to replace the CTs next spring at 80k miles (I can't believe they last this long) but am also thinking about replacing the struts/shocks so it'll ride better than new. I don't have x-reas is strut/shock replacement DIY or complicated requiring special tools?

thanks

Front left shock was leaking

I have an 04 SR5 and at 75K miles, the left front shock was leaking. The bad shock caused the steering wheel to vibrate badly above 50 miles. Funny thing, the dealer couldn't figure out the vibration problem. Anyway, I replaced the fronts with KYB GR-2 at an autoshop for a total of $400 (labor $160). Now the vibration is gone but the ride feels imbalance with the new fronts and old rear.

Anyone familiar with shocks think I should change the rear as well even though they are still in good shape?
