Any body ever use those dash overlays?

They come in different patterns that you stick on. My 97 has the fake redish wood looking overlay from the factory. They are really faded out in some spots and look kinda bad. I started to remove the overlay around the parking brake, and it came off pretty clean. Now I am considering doing the whole thing.

I may just leave it as is (black) once I take the overlay off, or buy a new replacement that I see advertised on the net.

Anybody else mess with it?

Are you talking about the fake wood lathered everywhere and the radio/AC controls that is fake wood then turns to a black plastic under the e-brake? If so, take your time peeling off the overlay, and give the plastic a LIGHT sanding and spray it with some bumper or trim black. For the radio bezel, again, light sand and paint. Even easier, keep yer peepers peeled on the classifieds and pick up new original black pieces as people part out and redo. I tried both, trust me, new pieces are easiest.
