We had a spreadsheet going with THOUSANDS of dollars of stuff. He didn't want it.

My point in the thread I linked was that it would be nice if he would just say that. We weren't asking for a super deal where he would lose $, just a deal where he would have guaranteed work and we would have a lower price.

I guess this is one of the downfalls to an improving economy.

Spoke to Bud's wife on the phone today. They have skids and sliders for our trucks in stock and can ship as early as Tuesday of next week without powdercoating.

Bad news is that I got the same "a couple of weeks" answer about the battery tray.

I'd actually be in for a 4-piece set- maybe a 5-piece set. Who has the lead on this? Anyone called him specifically about this? This could result in tens of thousands in sales.

Does he make sliders too? I did not see any but will look again. Heck, I'd get those too.

The guys in the 3rd Gen section had a list of about 40+ people that wanted products from Bud in a group by, and as far as I know he never got back to the OP. So good luck on this second attempt. I "MAY" put my name on the list when/if he gives a straight answer. Yes/No would be good enough but leaving people hanging is B.S in my book.

That's too bad. Just a pretty cocky way to run a business, IMO. It is cool to say "Sorry guys, my margins are pretty low so I cannot do this" or maybe a nominal discount. He probably does not have enough competition at this point, or maybe he just gets so much business from the Jeep guys that he does not care. Anyway regardless of reason, it is really too bad that he is not enthusiastic about 30-50 orders rolling in at one shot.

Age old problem with small business that are basically a one man band. They don't understand that hiring at least a part timer to answer phones / emails would actually bring in more money than the extra salary.

Anyways, Bud has offered discounts in the past - Veterans Day I think was the last. I gave him a nice sized order a few months ago and I asked for and received a decent discount. YMMV

If he already has enough orders to keep him busy and making a salary that he likes at the normal prices why would he do a big group buy like this? Odds are 30-50% of y'all will still buy the product at some point in the future.
