I bought a Dell Axim, and loaded it with GPS. Works great, but such a better bargain considering I can use it to surf wi-fi on the internet, do Word, XL docs, e-mail, load up old NES games, daily planner, etc in addition to being a GPS unit. You can pick up one for just over $500 depending on what kind of stuff you want with it.

would its navi feature but superior or inferior to units that are strictly made for navi only?

Well,
I only have experience with mine and Acura's GPS that they sell in their cars. They are both extremely accurate. You'd have to have some more people's opinions on theirs'. The cons of the Axim unit, its 2 pieces... The GPS and the Axim, you have to load the maps by state.

I have found that I loaded the states surrounding me and that has gotten me through 100% of the time thus far. If you have a huge memory card, you can load the whole country if you like.

The axim does talk to you, and you have many options and points of interest like other GPS units. Check out http://www.aximsite.com
