Try posting up an answer next time instead of whining. In the past several months posts like yours have intrigued me. I started randomly looking at previous posts from:

1. People telling others to search
2. People who complain about the people telling others to search

Know what I found? The people telling others to search actually have answered questions in the past and been very helpful. The people who complain about the people telling others to search? Very few have ever answered a question with a link or a fact. Only opinion. Just sayin'.

Well said buddy! If tou are bothered by people asking about searching - ignore them. It is not your God-given right to reprimand everyone that should actually (gasp) ask a question on a forum.
If people are so set on being "part of the solution" help educate without being a jackass in the process.

you know what? the search on here blows. and if you're looking for an answer to something that's not in the FAQ, it means going through pages and pages of posts trying to find it. and many times, even after investing considerable amounts of time, you still can't find it. and what do we get for posting? people like you telling us we didn't search well enough.

get over it. this forum used to be a lot more friendly, and the life of the forum depends on people using it, and it's going to have a tough time surviving long term if a small cadre of people like you continue to be condescending d*cks.

I will continue to search for the exact specs that I originally asked for, as I cannot find them all here. I'll make some phone calls tomorrow and do what I have to do. Sorry if I wasted anybody's time.

Wow, I did not even notice this due to the high signal to noise ratio of people insulting each other. I travel all over the country for much of the year. I travel on a lot of backroads and I have hit wildlife before. Just because I live someplace does not mean I do not travel to other places. But maybe you were trying to be humorous.

In many years of Internet forums, including some previous Toyota ones from when I had my Tacoma, I never have experienced so many talking about each other than I have in my very brief time on this forum. I am really just interested in 4Runner tech and not group dysfunction.

Good luck with the upgrades! All of these bumpers have things that appeal to different people. I read and read and read and kept coming back to Shockworks. If your only real negative is the lead time, I think you know which decision you will be happiest with in a year from now.
But yes, waiting sucks!

Maybe not necessarily 'animals', but after spending my share of time driving around NYC I too would want a steel front bumper. and perhaps a steel rear bumper, sliders, bulletproof glass, and maybe an army tank.
