Thanks for the Igloo "Quantum" lead!! But looking further into it, I found that the Quantum cooler actually blocks the rear seat vents. :-(
I finally ended up with this:

In the same location, but the vents are still usable. 14-cans vs the original 18-cans capacity. It's a good size for in cabin snacks and drinks!
I think the next thing I am going to do is to remove the handle (like the TRD 4Runner), try to figure how to get it "semi-secured" in this spot, and to "Plasti-Dip" it black!

Figure out how to get it secured in the spot yet? Wish I knew who made the bracket for the TRD PRO. I would like to have a small portable cooler there for day trips to keep drinks and snacks cool within reach of the passenger.

I have weathertechs too. I decided not to mount it the same as the trd one as i didnt want to drill holes in the floor board. I also wanted to make it easy to remove to fold down the rear seats. I settled on a square metal tub that cam-latches onto the center console. All i need to do is weld on the latches to the tub and rivnut the catches to the center console. I flash-burned my left eye this weekend welding up a friends jeep suspension, so i am taking a few days until i finish this little project. I will post up pics once its done.
I have that MD-14F in my Rescue at work (for medications that need to be kept cool). The thing is loud as all get out. and it's capacity is limited.

I drive down to North Carolina (500miles) and it would be nice to have a small cooler that was within reach of the passenger to keep our drinks and sandwiches cool. We use a soft side cooler right now behind the drivers seat but I'd rather have a mount that held a hard cooler right in between the seats like the picture.

FYI, for those that are consider a cooler like this, the Quantum does not block the vents completely and there's enough space to access the outlets. It's slightly bigger then the ice cube from what I can see. Also, if needed, the handles can fit attached. And the best thing is it's $15!

We have a new contender!
How snug is it in that spot? I don't expect it to stay there while out on a trail or anything, but for just a regular old road trip does it seem like it would most likely stay in place?

So far, around town and taking turns, it hasn't shifted yet. I imagine you can use Velcro on the bottom to help keep in place. My rear seats are adjustable so I can actually make them secure and snug by moving them forward.
I welded up this box that attaches to the rear of the console to hold the same cooler. It sits higher and blocks the vents to the rear, but it is also easy to reach and open the lid all the way without it hitting the seat. Works well so far and doesn't move event off-road. Also, I have since painted it which makes it look more finished and should keep it from rusting.
