Any ideas? 4Runner starting issue

Hi everyone,

I have an issue and any help would be greatly appreciated; lately my 97 4Runner has been acting like it has a dead battery - that is, that you turn the key, some dash lights come on but the truck doesn't turn over. Try it a few more times and it starts right up.

The problem seems to be getting worse each day. I've looked but can't find any loose or corroded connections.

Intermittant electrical problems are a real pain. Are there typical parts that tend to fail on this model that I should look at before I just start swapping parts out?

Thanks in advance for any help. I'm getting concerned that I'm going to get stranded somewhere..

#1: have a battery test done to check for a good battery at the same time that test can reveal if your alternators charging proper IF good to go. Go to starter and test for 12v getting to the starter. If your good there starter contacts could be gone. Which is a common issue with a no start. Of course those could be other things but that was my best internet guess

Try to eliminate the simple first. No corrosion. Have you tested the battery (perhaps a dead cell)?
