i would like to go out but i dont know exactly where to go. I was looking up wharton state park or pine barrens but i dont have an exact address to go to. And the sites are very vague on their descriptions yet i see vids online of people offroading.

I been there twice already. Its a good place i just dont know where the good places because the area is big. Could get easily lost. And barely and cell phone signal

i cant find one anywhere! where i live, people inch up until they touch your car when parallel parking so i want a rear bumper guard. it has a front brush guard already. Does anyone know any websites or locations in NY/NJ/PA area that has rear bumper guards for a 99 4runner?

Does anyone have a recommendation of a shop on Long Island that can install my Bilstein 5100 lift & Rear spacers?? My local mechanic said he can do it for about $350-400, which doesn't sound horrible, but he isn't a real 4x4 shop. If anyone here has a suggestion please let me know. Sub'd to the thread.

And if anyone wants to get together and meet up I'm down. Southern Nassau county here, and I get my 4x4 Fishing permit every year.

If you have a trailer hitch. Put a receiver and ball on and leave it. They'll hit that first, that's what I did.

Especially the extended ones!! Also, [MENTION=132401]4RunnAway[/MENTION] I believe Weathertech makes something for the hitch that looks like a step. But it's stupidly expensive.

The truck shop in West sayville ....they're actually putting in my 5100s next week....it's actually called "the truck shop"

31 days until Demo & the thumb open!! I've heard of the truck shop before, let me know how they do! I have my 5100s and my rear spacers sitting in my house waiting to go on.

You got it. ....I mean I walked in there and they were pretty helpful right from the start ....he was saying his youngest tech there has like 25 years experience. ...and they're primarily a 4x4 shop ....I think they'll do ok ....but I will definitely let you know

As tempting as that sounds ....I seriously want to say yea let's do this ....I wanna leave it to the people who have been doing it longer than I have been alive lol ......I pride myself in backyard mechanics I built a decent 00 celi gts in my driveway . ....but my rig is something I'd rather get done by the peeps with the proper equipment

I totally understand! I do recommend you start to do a lot of reading and a bunch of the work yourself though if you plan on ever off-roading your t4r...regardless of how experienced you are, something will break at some point, and the shop won't be there for you haha....anyway, the long island community needs to start getting together more often! We all should schedule something soon

I worked at Firestone for a while. ..made sure I did as many axles, hubs, bushings, links and stuff as I could. ....I've heard that axles are a pretty common thing ....I've done basic suspension work on my truck also I really appreciate the advice. ....as for a meet up I'm seriously down let's pick a day and do some runs ...Beach maybe

I'm not too bad lol and I'm right there with you ...I work overnights and I spend the days hanging on democrat point lol ...my next mod after the lift is an on board air compressor ...anyways I'm subscribed to the thread so whenever or if if any of you guys have kik

Not a bad idea. What height did you go to?? I'm thinking about going to the max and going with 285's.

I put a toytec ultimate lift on...I had the coilovers set to about 3" of lift, and the rear was about 3" as well. I put a 1" body lift on, I felt over zealous and bought trail grapplers 295s....they rubbed like crazy even after some trimming...I downsized to 285s and still get a bit of rub but it's not bad...it depends on your rig, I know there are guys running my setup and have zero rub!
