Any Long Island or NY Metro area 4Runners in here?

I've seen some people run 285 but they trim their body mount ....do you run wheel spacers?

I have wheel spacers and a back spacing and offset on my wheel, my tires come just slightly outside or the fender flares, so without them on, my tires probably site around 3"-4" outside of the body

Sorry about all the questions ...I'm trying to put 285s and I'm looking to see what issues I may run with what mods

update ....I got the lift ....the guy who helped me at shop actually owns land cruisers so he is Toyota savy .....the lift went on, they were professional and seriously had no problem answering any questions ....as far as their work ...I'm definitely going to use them again for future work that's for sure I'm gonna post a picture on my build thread in like 5 hours or so.

So what height did you go to? 5100's all around and rear spacers?? And if you don't mind me asking, what did they charge you?

Well I picked up my set through them I got express shipping and stuff through the shop with parts installation and alignment it ran me 1800 I'm at 3" in the front and 2" in the back. ...I got 5100 with toytec Springs and I got eibach coilover in the front
....your price will vary significantly because you have your own parts

I thought the 5100's only go to 2.5" in the front?! And you put the toytec HD's in the back?? Did you do tires yet?

Lol well in any case ...I can honestly say I'm happy with the work they did .....you should check them out have them quote you on the price for the installation and alignment ...and no still rocking my 265/70s lol it looks silly to be honest....I'm saving for some spacers then on to getting some new tires
 
Holy crap! This thread came to life! I lived in Brentwood from 96 - 06 & then moved up to Orange County, NY. I wheeled @ Smith Point every other weekend. Same 4Runner for 16 years now.
 
Any shops able to take on the rear axle seal job ? I already have both the axles out

I'm in the Queens area.
 
i'm in the bronx and have been wheeling on beaches in nc for years and would love to go to a meet with you guys and get into some more off roading around here. however i am stock ride height and looking to do the 3" lift on a tight budget so i can get onto so 32"s and do some decent wheeling. any help from you guys would be greatly appreciated i have welding skills to offer and good mechanical ability when it comes to my truck. you guys seem to have it all dialed in so i'm asking.
 
Hi all! I'm on Long Island and am slowly prepping my 4R to hit some trails. Getting beach pass but def like to do a run over at NJ Pine Barrens, Rausch n open to other areas. Not much or anything on LI. No lift(yet) but got her new shoes[emoji1417]

[MENTION=139756]celicaben[/MENTION] there really isn't much wheeling on LI besides the fishing beaches. Which is always a good time in the summer. You have until the end of the month to get the permit. Best place is Robert Moses State Park office. They're open 7 days usually until 5 or 6. Might be a hike from the BX but that's all Long Island has!!

remember to get the stuff they list, i tried to go to demo point and they didnt let me in cause no shovel...
luckily they dont really check at thumb, so i got to go in there.
