Hi I'm looking at putting fj springs and shocks in and am looking for pics of just the springs and shocks done no other lift or spacer.

Thank you
Bruce

Any reason you don't want the spacer lift? You can do a Daystar spacer in the front that really helps level it out. This shouldn't ad much time at all to the install (maybe 15-20 minutes) and is relatively cheap ($30-$40). I can't see a reason not to go ahead and add the spacer to fully level it while you've got everything apart.

Then go with something like the Toytec 1" spacer. It will leave some rake, and when loaded it shouldn't be too bad. I have just the front FJ springs and Toytec spacer and it's pretty level (little lower in the front still) so with the rear FJ springs you'd still be leveled out. If it's too big of a deal, you could always do air bags in the rear, not too expensive either and help out if you're doing that much towing. The FJ springs are a great option, and they are stiffer than OEM so you'll have less sag with them as well. It's not a big deal either way, but if it was me I'd go for at least a little more level look. With just FJ springs, it'll be very close to the stock look, maybe 1/4" less rake than before.

For what it's worth I've done the FJ coils in the rear an nothing up front. I'll eventually get a small spacer up front w/ the FJ coils, just haven't got around to it.
I pull different trailers quite a bit and LOVE the FJ spring on the rear.
I pulled my buddies 5,000 lb 24' ski boat for 100 miles or so w/ no problems at all. I noticed the rear FJ coils ride better, but are stiffer under load so I don't sag like I used to w/ the stock coils and half the weight. I have quite a bit of rake right now, but don't mind, it's not too noticable.

Here is a pick of my 2005 sport witht eh FJ struts, shockd and springs etc.....hope it helps or is what you are looking for....it has the stock 265 65 17 inch tires on it.........and here is the direct link if you need to see a bigger photo, I hope the link works...it doesn't make much difference........sorry...if you want to, I can email you some pictures I took, they may be better or bigger I should say

Chris did you happen to measure exactly what amount of lift you ended up with front and back ??

Yes. I got .75 (R&L) on the front and .3-.4 on rear (L&R) on my stock bumpered V6 4wd. I have read almost all of the FJC spring threads and the range for the front seems to be .5" (w/V8) to just under an inch on some higher mileage vehicles. I think the 'almost an inch' crowd was experiencing some minor spring sag prior to installing the FJ springs. The highest I recall for the rear is .75", again I suspect they had some worn springs and the almost new FJ springs lifted them a bit more than most of us.

The biggest difference on the rear is way-less sag when loaded.

Here are a few before and after pics of mine (sorry the before ones are kind of dark...). I'd say i picked up about 1.5" in the front and 1" in the rear. IMO it has a much better stance than before, although it's hard to tell from these pics. I got mine from the FJ Cruiser forums classifieds section, they were from a Trail Team Edition FJ and about $100 for all four springs and shocks.

nj the Trail Team edition idea sounds very interesting....what has the overall ride been like since your switch out (particularly the cornering) ?? I'm also curious as to the amount of lift you got since it seems to be more than the average change over to an FJ setup. Does the Trial Team setup set higher?

Well i went from having about 140k on my suspension, to less than 10k when i swapped it out. So there was a pretty dramatic difference, the ride is much better. Body roll during cornering was significantly reduced. It is definitely a stiffer ride, especially below 20 mph, but on the highway its great. I did have a little trouble getting it re-aligned properly (thanks for nothing World Toyota), but once i did I've been happy ever since. Not sure why i got that extra lift, probably a combination of tired old suspension + bilstein 1500's (which i image are stiffer than the stock shocks).

Curious about this as well. I think some of the fj and 1"(1/2" material) spacer look almost nose up and im worried in a towing scenario it would be worse.

Is there not a 1/2 or 5/8 spacer lift out there?

Also, If you end up with the bilstein 5100 set off of a FJ arent they adjustable, which would get rid of the need for a spacer?

And, ive seen discussion of the toyotec 3/4" and daystar 1" on here and the toyotec rep said that the material is actually 1/2" and on a T4R will yeild a 1" lift which makes it the same as the daystar or cornfed 1".

I have the 1/4" (1/2" lift) toytec spacers CJ3Flyr is talking about with FJ springs front & rear on my '03:

I chose the 1/4" spacers because I didn't want my running boards to look out of level like some who have FJ springs + 1"
