Any recommendations on a good/inexpensive OBD II tool.

but for the op. get one of these instead. cheap and can read everything. scan the truck too

Does this tool allow for exploring the techstream data and tweaking the settings or just read and clear codes? I tried emailing them and the language barrier was awful. I have several toyotas, from a 2001 Sienna, to my 2008 T4R and a couple of camrys (2011 and 2012) and my brother has an 09 Taco, and it appears it will work on all of them by the description, but the manufacturer emailed back that it might not work....so I am suspicious of what I am actually buying.

No inexpensive obd2 tool will work with techstream. Only 2 options exist, the Toyota VIM or the X-horse. I have the X-horse and run a hacked version of techstream on a win7 pc.

I use this reader with OBD Fusion, which now has enhanced data available for Toyota vehicles.

Be sure to verify that your ‘05 is in the covered model years, but since I have an ‘07, seems it should be.
