Any runs going on this 4th?

Just seeing if anyone is doing a short trail run this Friday? I'm not organizing a run but I think I may be going to Pancake Rock early Friday with a couple of friends who are more than likely going to flake out so I'm just trying to find see if anyone here is interested in joining.

I heard that's a fun place to be at for the fourth but I wondered if there is a line up there and if it's pretty packed.

So.... how was your experience?

There was a couple cars on the road going up. 3 Bikes, & about 7 or 8 trucks at the peak. Had plenty of room to park and watch the fireworks.

My camera battery died and it didn't charge until after all the shows were done, so I didn't get any good snaps =(

Other than that, it was pretty cool being able to see so many shows going off at once as well as everyones personal small ones haha.

I ended up going with a friend of mine and his 3rd gen. We made it half way up and had to cut the run short cus he broke both rear shocks at the top mount shaft.

I would like to hit up that Santiago Peak one day. Looks pretty rad.

Aw man that sucks to hear. Hopefully you guys made it down safely. I think COB is trying to plan a run this Friday the 11th. I won't be able to make it back up there until I get new tires after the 20th of this month

Nice pictures, and nice lighting on your 4runner also. Naw was up at hurkey creek campgrounds if thats the name. Doing the same thing you guys were just not nearly a view like yours. :couch2:

I wound up driving up there yesterday.. It was a last minute thing. A buddy of mine recently bought a Nissan Frontier and wanted to get it dirty so I joined him. There was a 1st gen Tundra on Main Divide not far uphill from 4 Corners who was stuck with two flat tires. One of them had a huge gash in the sidewall and the other had a puncture in the tread too big for a plug to seal it. Hope he made it down the hill OK. Definitely a reminder to anyone driving this route to make sure your tires are in good condition. The route isn't technically challenging but there are plenty enough sharp rocks along the way to ruin your day.
