Any Suggestions or Feedback on 5th Gen Remote Starters?

SO I've been missing a remote start for my rig after I got rid of my chevy. Great feature for the chilly mornings.. Anyone have experience and feedback with installing one on my 5th gen? Brand recommendations and any way to not have another FOB?

Ive emailed him before but got kinda mixed and all over the place information and had to stop and look other places on the net to get a remote start.:confused: I would say do your research online and really figure out what is being sold, where does it go, and will it void your Factory warranty. for my 2018 Limited it was $250 and Im guessing all that does is just start the car, which is all i needed. Dealer loves to deny repair as soon as they see some kind of a 3rd party installation.

Thank you. I also only need it to start the car for a few minutes prior to entering.. Crazy how this is not a standard in new vehicles.. What unit did you get? I've researched Viper as the best but I don't want another FOB

Do you have a Limited? The keyless entry / start does add some complexity to the install, which is what I'm assuming happened to Norfolk4Runner based on the profile pic.

For a keyed start, what [MENTION=93434]gshadow325[/MENTION] provides is first rate and easy (can't speak to the keyless start product). And a dealer tech would have a hard time telling that you did anything without taking apart your car.

No extra key fob, uses your existing keyless entry.

I'm sorry to confuse you. I did reply back to your email with my phone number just now to hope and clarify all your questions. i do promise you i know a little bit on the subject :)

Emails sometimes strip the life out of conversation and turns it black and white then into something thats harsh when it was never intended to be.

He did not purchase a system at the present moment. I do my best to give customized quote since each client's situation and usage is going to be different. its best [MENTION=195210]Brittrick[/MENTION] you read the thread and email me. the price he posted is really out of context since there is much more in that quote besides a $ and 3 numbers. i hope i make sense, if not please do not hesitate to reach out via email.

I have a TRD Pro 2015. Looking for Remote start, I understand you may need that EZ fob to open doors (just hope that doesn't run out of battery.. If it has one haha), and if possible a smart phone function to access alarm (so depending on costs, an aftermarket alarm system). I'm assuming you only sell the products as you are in GA

dont assume. i do get dirt under my fingernails occasionally.

i was in vegas a few weeks ago doing a few installs for some friends and family.
i'm heading to NYC and Philly metro in a few weeks to do a lot of installs. saturn auro 2008, 2016 tundra, 2015 sequoia, 2018 honda fit, 2018 porsche cayenne, 2001 rav4, ust to name a few.

I'm guessing you meant to ask gshadow, but quoted me.

Steve will sell you a kit and detailed install instructions, along with access to a private google docs folder with LOTS of pictures of what you are doing. But he travels a lot too.

I have the basic system, which starts the car. The fob still works in every other function, just on the third consecutive lock click, the car starts. There are other options that I'll let Steve go over with you (smartphone app, etc.) but it is a really easy and convenient mod. His system is fully upgradeable too, I'm still debating adding the drone so I can start the car with my phone.

haha! My apologies... Responding to multiple people and working is getting confusing.

But glad you're happy with his system. Been debating this for some time
