Any word on March 2010 Incentives?

Has anyone gotten the scoop on the new incentive Toyota will offer in March?

I got a note from one dealer saying, "I believe it will be in your best interest to wait for the March incentives. Please contact me on March 2nd."

I'm hoping the incentive is not only for current owners.

Hope it's something good, I've placed a deposit on an SR5 out of state, the dealer is sending me the paperwork on Monday but has agreed to honor whatever manufacturer incentives come out on Monday/Tues... fingers crossed!
 
The rumors have indicated that Toyota will be launching something "extraordinary" to counter all the negative publicity from the recalls and to drive sales.

Personally, I'm hoping the incentives aren't irresistibly lucrative, otherwise that could push me to getting the new 4Runner... :)
 
I don;t know how much incentive they are going to place on the one model that don't have a problem selling. I think they will place big incentives on every model that was under a recall.

i disagree. the damage to the Toyota brand isn't model-specific. negative public perception is the whole enchilada, not a' la carte; camry bad, 4runner good, corolla bad, etc…

we'll find out on tuesday.
 
I had a dealer tell me that the incentives most likely won't apply to the TE, and I want to agree with him, but he's pretty much a dope, so I'm not real confident in his opinions.

I hope any incentives extend into June when my TE will get here!

Is there anyway to verify this through a non-dealer source? I was thinking that calling Toyota Financial Services (TFS) and asking them might be a way to get the official word. This way, if the dealer tries to feed buyers any BS, we can state the OFFICIAL answer given us by TFS.

you can verify the incentives directly with TFS, but they won't be able to tell you anything until the information is made public on 3/2 or 3/3.

I think Toyota is going to try something other than throwing huge amounts of money at rebates. The domestic trio did that and it conditioned buyers to expect huge rebates or else they weren't getting a good deal, not to mention the damage it did to resale values.

The ironic thing is they've weathered previous problems like the engines killed by sludge and rusting truck frames that would seem to have had a bigger impact on the perception of Toyota's reliability. But both of those were relatively boring compared to the FUD that can be spun by the media on out-of-control Toyotas speeding at 100+ MPH down the highway.

I agree about not throwing huge rebates. Thats one of the reason resale is so high. I was able to buy my last SUV from Ford for 12.5K off MSRP with rebates.. lol. The problem is now its worth nothing.

I 100% agree. I have no problem paying in the low 30s for an SR5 because I think the truck is worth it. I hate paying interest, though.
 
I'm inclined to say it'll be longer warranties than big rebates (some smaller rebates possibly). It doesn't impact the bottomline in terms of cash/revenue, but does on the books as liabilities. As long as the quality and reliability in Toyotas follow historic trend, Toyota will be ok. It's the easiest way for Toyota to compete with the longer warranties from GM and Hyundai. Does Chrysler still offer lifetime powertrain warranty?
