yeah well tell that cop to Fing shove it and go pound rocks... cause in the state of Washington it is 100% legal to have one, and no city or municipality can go and create a law or ordinance that is in violation or contradiction to a state law -now its not a state law that they have to be legal, but the stay has not made them illegal, so yeah they(radar detectors) are good to go i can assure you

Your probably right but I didn't know the law still dont care, but I do know in some states they are illegal. If I'm going to speed I risk the chance of getting pulled over anyways I'm not gonna try and cheat the system when half the time a ladar(laser speed gun) can hit you before your radar even goes off

Love my V1, but do not use it in my 4runner as I hardly ever go more than 5-7 over. Radar detectors are only illegal in Virginia and DC, used to suck going home to Maryland from North Carolina.

I think I found out why the cop said what he said to me here are 2 federal laws stating the use of radar detectors.

Use and sale of a RADAR Detector on military bases is illegal per DoDI 6055.04 update

Your are correct it is illegal to use a radar detector in Virginia or DC.
It is also illegal to hang anything in your windshield other than a rear view mirror in California, New Jersey, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and Florida. So no idea where your going to mount it unless you get a stealth detector
