Anybody know where Bakersfield is?

I picked up my 99 Limited right before Independence Day and I've been haunting this site ever since. I wasn't even planning to buy a 4x4 right now, but I saw it and I was offered the deal of a lifetime on it so I just had to have it. Now I've learned that it is one of the most sought after of the third gen trucks. I've been a Toyota owner for several years now but I'm just getting back in to the 4x4 game.

This has been a very informative source for me these past weeks, and I just want to thank all the contributors that have made me want to join.

Welcome Will! Glad you found the forum and we could be of assistance to you. Do you also have the 4.30 gears, that would be the ultimate truck!! I also had a 99 with 4.30 gears, rear diff lock and Multimatic trans, let me know if I can be of any help

I counted the revolutions of the driveline to the rear tires and estimated around 4.10, but then I ran my first tank of gas through it and averaged 19mpg :dancin: so I would say that confirms that I could not possibly have the 4.30's. Even with 158k and an automatic she's got plenty of git-up-N-go without a super-low final gear ratio, so I'm not going to complain.
