Anyone add a window screen in front of rad?

Im from Canada lots of bugs. Has any1 added a screen of some sort behind the honey comb grill? I was thinking of tucking one in front of the rad somehow. Any info on mods would be appreciated

It'll end up plugged with bugs and your engine will overheat.

Sounds kinda like a grass shield, just don't put it right against the radiator and check that it's clean and you should be good

I remember when that used to be common procedure in the Midwest. But that was before we killed all the insects with pesticides.

I did that in the fall to protect the rad / condensor from all of the flying rock salt / slush / sand you name it on the winter roads around here which bombard and embed into the rad fins, never thought about bugs but I suppose thats a good use too. Can't see how window screening restricts much airflow, I guess give it a try like I did behind the existing screening only and watch your temp gauge, I'm sure it will be fine. I simply cut it to fit with a pair of scissors and reached up there from underneath, trimmed here and there, secured it with multiple pieces of landscaping tie wire (stripped off the plastic) and its tight. Has survived the winter quite well. I'll just make new ones prior to next winter.

Those (grass or chaff)screens in front of the radiator are common on farm tractors. You may have luck finding something at a tractor dealership or farm supply. As said above, leave space between screen and radiators. And regarding you needing something like that on a daily driver, WOW, I thought we had a lot of bugs down here in the South. Y'all must have it really bad up there.
