Anyone dealt with Alpha Foxtrot recently?

I was emailing with Jake last December about buying a roof rack, he said they would be shipping some time in Jan. Sent me some pics of the prototype new roof panel. Looks great. I'm excited.
Sent several emails over the last couple of months asking on lead time updates, no reply.

Anyone know if they're still around, before I click Buy Now on the site. Or is it time to look at another brand? Have cash in hand, but at this rate camping season will be over before I have anything to carry my crud.

My advice is to find another rack. There are plenty of options out there from companies that are responsive and make good products.
If he’s not responding to you during the sales cycle just imagine how bad it will be once he has your money.
 
Solid advice. I was hoping someone had inside knowledge with a reasonable explanation, but you're right. This makes me concerned for warranty issues as well.

Damned shame. Looks like one of the best engineered racks I've come across.
 
Sherpa has replied to everything I've asked them about (pre-sales, replacement parts, install questions) same day, and sometimes with pictures taken from their own vehicles. Highly recommend them. High quality stuff with the best support of any vendor I've used other than GreenLane Offroad, and I've bought from a lot of the typical vendors at this point.

I can attest to Sherpa. I helped a buddy install their rack on his Tacoma last week. Leaps and bounds quality product over my Prinsu.

He was when I started emailing him. He even sent me some sneak peeks of a prototype product he's working on. Then he just stopped replying.

I posted on a few other places and found at least three other people that he hasn't gotten back to. I hope everything's ok. But I'm not comfortable forking over a grand if someone can't answer emails.

I'm another one who can attest to Sherpa's responsiveness and drive to ensure they have happy customers. I've seen them go beyond my expectations both for my rack and recently a buddies.

I use both a frontrunner and a sherpa. Besides the complaints about "hot" weather and feeding him, the sherpa has been great.

ah yes, the missing foot....its a long story....happened one late night around the campfire with a big group of people.....a chain saw, lots of whisky, maybe some mushrooms and an intense round of doin the "hokey pokey".....lets just leave it at that.
 
ah yes this is why the instruction manuals always warn you not to hokey pokey while chomping on pizza toppings
 
I agree not to buy anything from folks that cant support. I made my own but sherpa makes a great one also they are good people great company and as far as strength they race ultra4 with one attached to their 4th gen soooo…

I saw your YouTube vid. Amazing work but not something I am interested in diving in to. Applause, sir!
 
Ended up connecting with a bunch of people on Reddit and FB trying to get in touch with Alpha Foxtrot to no avail. I ended up buying a Sherpa rack.
Buyer beware, and best of luck to you if you're an existing customer and ever need support or need to use their "lifetime warranty".

Shame, seemed like a well made rack at a fair price.
