I have a Bilstein kit coming and I am a bit worried about ending up with a Cali Lift. Here's the scoop on what I am planning:

1/ 6112 up front. Would like to achieve 1.5-2" of lift

2/ 5160 in back and switching stock springs for Wheelers t13 rear springs

Setting this up to be a 1/ daily driver but also 2/ a car my son and I can use to do a 3 week overland trip this summer. It should be capable BUT we will not be doing any rock-crawling. Just want to see the country, go most places and camp, etc...

To anyone who has done this lift: How high was the front lifted? I have heard that the front actually shows WAY more lift than advertised... Has anyone gotten Holy-Grail results and want to share their settings for the Bilstein circlip positions?

Anyone?

That Bilstein setup is pretty common. I have the same front and rear Bilstein parts on my truck using icon coils in the back and camburg upper control arms in the front. Much better Road manners without nose dive and the 6112s in front are much beefier than stock. You should have no issues camping.

Roughly 2.5 in front and 2 in the rear

Could you post some pictures of your setup?

I'm going with the same setup, but have to wait until July for the purchase. Watching the comments for setup tips.

Click the "My Garage" Link under my Avatar before and after pics are their. The NFab side steps are a good indicator of clearance. Scroll down a bit and there is a close up of the UCA.

Which circlip positions did you use on the 6112s? Did you bother with separate settings to adjust for the lean?

Per the recomended setup instructions, the pasenger side is set one notch below the max and the driver side is maxed out go account for lean.

What part number is the 6112 set up that you ordered? I ask because there was a revision to the 5th Gen (2010-2017) 6112 that addressed the inconsistent heights. If I remember correctly the part number for mine was 47-259768. The original 6112 had 4 groves for adjustability on the shock body, the revised version has 7.

When I first started looking, I quickly decided on the same exact set up you are getting. But when I searched places to purchase on the internet things got a little fuzzy. Some retailers showed one part number and others showed a different one. Ended up calling Bilstein to be 100% sure; at one point, even Bilsteins guide was not showing the correct 6112 part number in their applications PDF.

I set mine to the 3/4" lift setting, didn't want a lift, just better ride and handling. The result was right on the money. You will have a slight lean; I don't believe the Bilstein set up does away with it, but it is not noticeable.

Overall, the ride from the combination of 6112 and 5160 is amazing. It tightens up the ride and gets rid of the nose dive. Off-road the suspension is magical, those shocks dampen the roughest terrain and have great driving manner on the tarmac. I'm very happy I went this route. For the money, the performance cannot be match.

I'm going back and forth between this setup and an OME lift.

I know this is very subjective question, but how much firmer do you feel the ride is?

Do you have any regrets with the setup and not something like OME?

Also I would like to keep some of the vehicle rake. Could have you gone a little more in the rear to preserve the rake?

Not sure abot the rear, but you can do 2 inches infront. No experience with ome, but as I understand it, they are comperable.

Here's mine with 6112's (circlip 4th up from bottom on 5 ring version of 6112's) and 5160's with stock springs in the rear.

6112/5160 3/1 setting with 1” rear Bilstein spring and 650 lb front coils. Also on the truck is the SDHQ HIDDEN MOUNT system with a Warn Zeon 10S winch. (Both photos have the winch).
