anyone else have or know of this issue??

First of all, I have searched but am not entirely sure what to search for.

My 2008 limited V8 (62,000 miles) will feel like it is accelerating (like when you are on cruise control and going up a hill) but the RPM, and MPH do not move...

It happens at all speeds, even going down the driveway.

The acceleration feeling will last about 10-15 seconds then go away, then come back about a minute later.

It seems to run fine otherwise, just really annoying.....

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Edit:

Anyone thinking it could be a gasket leak or something??? It feels like its just getting more power than needed... more air maybe.. Just a thought to add..

Is it when the AC kicks on? My truck will move forward when at a red light with my foot on the brake when the AC kicks on.

Good thought, but no, not that, still cold here. I had an 03 4runner and it has never done this. Just got this one in august last year.

I don't know. There was the recall for the floor mat. But that's not it.

Like the other guy said it feels like when the AC kicks on... but my AC is not on.

That floor mat recall was a sham,nothing wrong with my front driver side floor mat. They wanted to grind away on my gas peddle. NO WAY!!! Keep your dirty hands off my 4runner stupid dealer stealers.:laser::laser:

AC cycles whether it is on or not.

Defrost?

Defrost uses the a/c motor, too. When the defrost kicks on, just as the a/c, the rpm's will raise slightly (at idle maybe from around 650 to around 800?) and the feeling of accelerating occurs when in drive. Maybe it happens when the engine is cold? It'll run at higher rpm's then, too. Who knows tho.

Thanks for the help, I will play with it and see if that is what it is. I know I can feel it with the AC.

It's weird though because I had an 03 as well and it never did this... (it did do the AC thing though...
