Anyone else having seat problems?!?

I love my 4Runner, but... I have had a ridiculous amount of problems with the seats. On our spring road trip the back of the passenger seat blew out. That zipper-seam exploded.

They warranted it, but it took a month and 2 trips to the dealer.
A couple weeks after they replaced the whole seat, the plastic side plate fell off. The rear seat cover came unclipped. They repaired both of those. Two trips to the dealer for the first, one for the other.
Lastly, the rails under the driver seat got bent somehow. I am an average size guy btw (6’, 185 lbs). Another two trips to the dealer...
I’m about to hit 36k miles, so my warranty is about up... I hope these problems don’t continue...

I had ripping issues in my 4th gen that I had to get repaired 2 times. My 17' softex seats are holding up well so far (12,500 miles).

That's a bummer, but at least the dealership did the right thing!

Back seats

No issues with the front seats but the back seats keep coming apart on the bottom. The plastic has popped out from under the seats. Been to the dealer a few times to fix but it keeps coming out. My warranty just expired so i guess i'm out of luck.

I also have a problem with the rubber door molding on a rear passenger door. it keeps popping out of the frame and sticks out like a hernia when the door is closed. i have to use my key to tuck it back into its place.

There are worse issues to have, so i guess i'm lucky.

Shameless post, I have a set of cloth seats from a 2016 trail perfect shape if anyone was interested. I’d sell the set for $300 not sure what shipping would be prob around $150 or so. Local pickup would be better I’m in NJ.

6'2" 230 pounds a little shy of 12K miles on my 2016 and zero issues so far. Now with that said, rear seat is only used by my kids and passenger seat by my wife who is 5'7" and 125 pounds so no real abuse there lol.

Wow. These issues are sad to hear. Toyota quality is renowned. I hope this isn’t a new trend.

My 2010 SR5P has been flawless and my seats don’t show the 95,000 miles on them. My truck feels like new. Good luck.

If your seat is all the way back, adjust it forward a hair and that will resolve the noise.

I have a clicking coming from under the driver seat while accelerating and braking. Checked everything under there and it seems right so I’m gonna bring it in and make the dealer deal with it.

Sig- if your seat is pushed back all the way, the issue will be fixed by moving or forward just a tiny bit. No dealership needed.

100K miles on my 2016. Seats have held up very well. I've had the rear seat cover untuck a couple times and the dealer just tucked it back in when I had a warranty.
