Isn't there a line that's before the throttlebody, and after the MAF? If so, that would allow unmetered air to get it. I'm surprised it didn't trigger a lean code?
Anyone for bets on what's wrong?

Sure, but the airbox is before the MAF.

x2. I'd like to think I win the thread, but the line going into the air box that you fixed is a return line, not a vacuum line. I mean, maybe there's a tiny bit of vacuum there from the intake, but not enough to matter. I think you could leave that hose hanging free and it wouldn't affect how your motor runs.
Next time you have the hood popped and the motor running, yank that hose free. I bet your motor doesn't even notice.

Ah yeah, forgot he was talking about that line at the air box.
