Figured I'd bump up this thread.... new to the forum, picking up our '10 4Runner Trail Edition this Tuesday. Live near Bathurst/Eglinton, have a farm out near Georgetown, and a cottage up near Bancroft.

Anyone else still active on here within the GTA?

Its time to add lift, tires, bumpers, winch, lights, skids, sliders and take it for the adventure in environment it was designed to live in.

Sometimes hard to see "wild" cars spending their life in mall parking lots...

The truck is designed to conquer rocks, mud, outback trails, etc...

I was on the 400 near Cookstown and a blue or grey 4th gen caught up to me. I would have waived but I was talking to my wife and I was distracted. Looked like a younger guy with a ball cap on. I was in my white 5th gen. Anyone on the forum?

Just found this tread, nice to see GTA folks here. I got a Grey 5th gen SR5 and I' think it's the only one of a kind here in Mississauga. Feel free to wave me if you spot me on the road : )

What we need is to determine drivers experience and truck capabilities as well.
Not every member here have real life experience of crossing 1.5m river or going through 350m of clay mud with 60cm ruts in their truck.

Were about did you find your trails? I have some trails that I frequently travel about an hour to the east of the city.

Were about did you find your trails? I have some trails that I frequently travel about an hour to the east of the city.

This is a map - look at concession 1 and concession road 7 - Someone may have put some do not tresspass signs up recently but I have gone here a bit. Some hills and trails. Near Cambridge ontario. I find it easier to go west rather than Easy but what does everyone else say?

I just guided a guy on stock tires through 3+ level trail. It was walking in the park for my truck, but allot of challenge for him, I had to pull him a few times. I would not recommend doing such thing without proper guide with well equips truck.

Get yourself a proper recovery gear as well (3x30 recovery rope, 3/4 shackles, etc...)

I've been through some not very deep mud already but yes, as long as trail is not dry it's a challenge for stock tires. A-TRAC is very good on 5th gen and makes for poor tires sometimes but I decided on GoodYear Duratracs, just have to wait until October. I always carry 2 shackles, 3x30 Smittybilt recovery strap and short shovel just in case : )
