Well, the truck comes with 4 skidplates. I assume those are sufficient. As far as sliders go, would I have to remove my running boards?

Check out their web site. It is recommended to remove the running boards.

check out that link Koz provided . . . . he took his limited and Bobby had his SE, both with running boards, and with good spotting, had no problem. If you are careful you'll probably be okay with your running boards . . . .

When I lived in NJ I took my Jeep to Paragon and my quads.... IMO the skidplates that come from the factory aren't good enough but too each his own. I haven't taken my Fo Runna off road and don't plan to... but if I did I would get stronger skids.

Really? What's wrong with the standard skidplates? One of the reasons I leased this truck was that the fully loaded version came with all the off road toys, such as skidplates, Hill decent, etc. The Pathfinder LE did not.

the stock skids are no where near as strong as you would need for most situations. plus if you have the skidplate offered as an accessory, thats even worse since it will probably bend in an instant.

I'm sure they offer SOME protection no? I mean, it's not like they are made out of plastic. If not, very crappy job by toyota.

They do offer some protection, but they are not great. They are a start, but if you plan on doing a lot of off-roading, you should invest in better ones.
