Anyone got a pic of BFG KO2 275/70R17 on your 4R without lift?

You should try airing down more. I cruise at 35psi and it is slightly softer. :car:
I have the same exact lift set up as you on my 2014 sr5, and just installed 275/70r17 ko2. I thought I had plenty of room, but at full lock in reverse they are rubbing at the front bumper/wheel well. Did you experience anything like this?

How are the Spidertrax working out? Same rig and tires as you, but in red and debating on the spacers. Any issues with alignment or drift on the highway? Or any significant increase in turn radius?

Welp, I had my dealer install them, they had to rebalance the new tires, and when they did, they broke a stud off the spacer. Sooooo, I have a new pair in the truck now. And Honestly, just knowing the stud broke, even though it was because the DumbA$$ tech installed it with an impact after I said Torque Wrench. It concerns me a little. Turning radius wasn't different, I did have to do the front liner mod and cut a little of the bumper, but it's clean. Really thinking about just selling these and getting Wheels instead. Any Offers, lol?

Yes I rubbed after the lift. Trim a little.

That's what steered me away from spacers. Just more room for error with extra parts that can fall off.

If you over torque a lug, it will fail. Doesn't matter if its a spacer or the lug on the OEM hub. Thats why impact wrenches/guns are great for taking things off, but not so great when used to install things.

I get it if you want to keep things simple, and don't want to add more failure points to your car. I just wanted to point out that failure of a component is more likely due to installation error, or in the above case, a grease monkey with a impact wrench.

I’m actually thinking about FNx Pro wheels. More offset without having to use spacers. And they look better than the factory Trail wheels to me.

The tire fitment guide though says no rub? Or is it so minor it does not really count?

Just wondering, about to get new tires soon.

No rub, minor rubbing is experienced with 285s thought it seems it depends on which ones. not all tires in a particular size are actually the same size. that said, from all I have read, not only on this thread but all over T4R is that 275 is really as big as you can go with no negative consequences at all. (aside from weight and gas mileage)

275 70 17 tires On stock wheels no lift/mods 5th gen

So I have a 5th gen 2016 Toyota 4Runner SR5 no lift/mods.
Looking to upgrade my tires for a more tough/rugged look.
Will 275 70 17 tires fit stock rims/wheel? Any rubbing? Will I need spacers?
I currently have stock 265 70 17....Please HELP...

Got mine on today. No rubbing, ride is smoother and quieter than my old 265 rugged terrains. Definitely better.. it feels solid and stable driving now. Reminds me of when I test drove land cruisers honestly. I've had sports cars in the past (honda s2000) and I like the ride firm, this is nowhere near as bad as that however. I love them so far.

I've had the 275s on my TRDP for about a year now, if I had it to do over again, I'd definitely get the 265s instead. I've had no issues at all with rubbing under any circumstance, and I've done some pretty gnarly wheeling out in Arizona, but the weight penalty from the stock tires to the E-load 275s is brutal. The gas mileage penalty is abysmal and the thing cannot get out of its own way on any sort of incline. Unless you're off-road all the time and running very low tire pressures, the weight penalty for E-load tires just ain't worth it in my opinion.

I've got a TRDP also and planning to get the KO2's in 275 configuration. Your comments about the penalties has got me rethinking the 275s. Do you have before / after numbers to offer up?

You can also consider 285s to avoid E-load. This is why I'm only considering 265's or 285's.

I hadn't looked at 285s but I did check out the OEM 265 Grapplers weighing in ~40lbs for C-load, and the equivalent 265 BF KO2 coming in around almost 46lbs for C-load, and ~53lb for D-load. I'm curious what a >10lb gain on each tire will do for MPG with the KO2 265 D-load. I would love to go with the larger profile of a 275, especially as I try to convince myself I need a lift also, but I have a 60-mile round trip work commute so I gotta keep an eye on the MPG impact.
