Anyone have a problem removing rear internal bumpstops

I'm working on my LC lift and one coil and bump stop fell out. The driver side internal bumpstop will NOT come out. The coil is out butnthe bumpstop is still stuck to the truck. I planned to run my LC coils without the bumpstop but don't want to cut it out incase inchange my mind. Anyone have any tips? It's hard to get a screwdriver in there to pry under it. I put my boot in here and bent it as hard and far as I could. This I don't want this 3 week install to last 4. Haha.

To get max droop on the rear axle you need to disconnect the sway bar endlinks and the lower shock bolts. Keep an eye on the center brake line hose above the rear dif for stress. Not sure which LC coils you have but the longer the coil, the more difficult it is to get in an out. As a last resort, coil spring compressors will definitely work.

There's nothing holding it on besides rust, and the fact it's been there forever. I would try to get something under it, or even try to separate the coil from it. You might be able to get a burner knife under it which is a putty knife with a sharpened edge.

Or go to Autozone and rent a spring compressor. It's completely free if you return them, and saves a lot of time.

In my opinion, there is no need for a spring compressor. Installed my LC 8 wraps without one.

My method:
Remove sway bar endlinks
Remove lower shock bolts (or shocks completely if you are replacing)
Loosen upper/lower link bolts (no removal necessary)

This will allow the axle to drop as far as necessary with no drama necessary.

well, with a large pry bar and hammer, I was able to beat the hell out of the upper part that makes contact w the truck and it popped out. I gave it some love taps until it pissed me off and I went hulk on it. I'm surprised how strong that rust bond was.

Only time recommended to remove is installing the SS lift kit. He has fine tuned the kit to work with 7wraps and says it's too much lift. You can remove them to lose some ride height.

I can't see how that's possible - they don't interfere with articulation on my truck (stock outboard bumpstops) and only seem to offer compression protection (like fully loaded) for the shocks themselves...?

Does he mean that the mounting flange on the coil bumpstops is adding too much lift (like 1/8")?

What am I missing?

He built his rear bump stops, sway bar lift brackets, e-brake tensioner to all work with New 7 wraps without the cone inserts. He has fine tuned and precision made these parts to work together. My bump stops where over 1/4" thick and yes it added ride height when I reinstalled them.

In real most life situations its not a big deal. But I remember Steve telling me you can pop a coil at full flex when running cones installed.

I just replaced my rear springs and the PO put in a 2" leveling kit so I needed spring compressors to get them out. Dropped the axle nearly to the ground and I still wasn't even close to getting them out!
