CV Boot (outer) replacing large clamp

I didn't crimp down hard enough when I rebooted my cv axle and I'm seeing grease leaking out from the outbound side. I'm thinking of cutting off the large outer (closest to wheel) cv clamp, repacking with grease and re-crimping. The OEM clamps don't open all the way, so does anyone know if there is enough clearance for the large OEM clamp for the outer boot to slide on from the wheel side of the axle? I brought the clamps in from the side closest to the differential the first time as I had the whole axle apart while I was replacing the inner and outer boots. I'd like to avoid cutting the clamps off the inner boots if at all possible as these OEM clamps are expensive and I don't want to disrupt the inner boots as they are holding the grease well. Any advice will be appreciated.

Yes, I think you can. You might have to massage it a little bit but pretty sure it will go over from wheel side.
