Anyone have one of those android radios?

It use your phone's data plan when you use the phone as a wifi hotspot. Otherwise it has a list of wifi available jsut like any other computer or phone it can connect to. If you need it while driving you pretty much need to use your phone, I don't need that much access though, offline navi works fine for me because I can always have the latest maps. Just got it so not sure all the tricks, but it pretty much does anything your android can do.

Right now it has all my needs covered. A few years from now I'll probably need something else lol.

Gotcha, would it work with a iPhone?? Or does everything have to be android?? And when they're asking me if I want navigation included will that run off my phones hotspot?? Or is it a navigation like all the other units that just need the receiver installed??

I put this OUKU android in my 4.0runner about a year ago, and I absolutely love it..
I also put one in my daughters Jeep Liberty. She loves it too...She connects her Iphone to it for music.
you can use any Navigation app you want for android. I use the offline versions so I don't get live traffic updates.
Get the capacitive touch screen, and the highest android version available.

It really does do everything you can imagine, no problems at all.
best of all, it was only about 220.00 vs 1k for a similar name brand model.

Stay away from windows based units!

It comes with a gps antenna, that's all you need to run offline navi. If you need traffic updates and all that then yeah you'll run off the hotspot. But that takes data lol, not interested. Not sure about the Apple models or if there is one, couldn't care less about Apple:boink:

I've got the Pioneer Appradio... Apple or android compatible and love it.

How do you like having the touch buttons on the side and not physical buttons? Mainly for adjusting the volume. I want to order one similar and I like to clean look of the touch buttons, however I think a physical volume nob would be easier to use.

It takes some getting used to. I miss steering wheel controls.

I bought one off of ebay about 6 months ago and love it. I haven't had time to use it to its full extent yet but it does everything I need well. One thing you need to be careful with on these units is to make sure it will fit. Their idea of double din is quite a bit different then ours. Most show their dimensions, I thought I picked one out that would fit but I needed to break out the Dremel to shave a few mm's from the console trim.

I recently picked up a Joying 7" double din. It fit great with some minor mods to the opening with a dremel. I was planning to do a write up when I get all the accessories (ODB adapter with Torque, back up cam, dash cam, etc) installed.
