Anyone have rear interior lights installed?

Hi everyone,

I had some badass LED lights installed inside the shell of my PreRunner, hooked up to run off the battery.

Wondering if anyone has rigged something like that for the rear interior of the 4Runner? I was rummaging around in there last night and could have used a little illumination.

Something like this, when mine was installed they suggested a smaller one but naturally I figured more was better (I was wrong, way too bright!).

Thanks !

I've been thinking of the same thing but haven't done my 5th gen yet. I had a similar setup in my 3rd gen - just little short bars. 2 were white for a lot of illumination and two red with separate switches so I could use the red ones without screwing up my night vision when camping.

You could also get some rock lights that has a switch and hook them up to a constant power source and turn it on and off whenever you want or follow the writeup and tap into the rear hatch so they only come on when the hatch is opened.

No photos, but I used 6mm LED bolts from Oznium.com, installed in the back pillars and wired into the hatch lights. Work great.

They delivered fast, with an easy install. However, watch out for the little lenses. They pop off easily, or at least mine did, just stick them on with superglue. I lost one of the lenses and Oznium offered to just send me a new one! Customer service is outstanding.

LED Strips

Wired some up to a button switch that I can easily turn on/off when I open the hatch.
