[MENTION=87436]ugamurph[/MENTION] I have seen videos of the cove and it looks more like an atv trail than anything else. I just don't want to crunch anything on my runner. She's not the prettiest thing on the road, but not a dog either. If I'm free that day, I may try to make the run with ya'll since some stockers are going on the trip.

The 'cove' is a huge area, the main trail is more than doable in a stock truck, you will be fine nobody's going to let you get into something thats going to do damage. (Disclaimer you will be off road things happen, pinstriping and the like should be expected)

I'm have some over heating issues at the moment, I will have to see how getting that fixed goes, really hoping to make it.

Thanks, Jason. I've never been to the cove, but know some Jeepers that have. They must've went on a rougher area of the cove, it looked pretty rough. My runner isn't the prettiest really (scratches, dents, etc.), so a little pin striping doesnt bother me. I really need to repaint her in the summer anyway (typical toyota fade). Im more worried about crunching a rocker panel or something like that since runner's are long(er) wheelbased.

New to the forum & yota's, not new to off-roading (especially in southern/middle tennessee) that's where i was raised up. I really wanted to come to the ride cause it's real close to where i live and i know the area very well, but unfortunately my fiancé is having foot surgery and it's a "no-go"

My bumper is made by Shrockworks. I have Old Man Emu 883 heavy coils up front that gives about 2-1/2 to 3 inches of lift. It is not a spacer lift. It only dropped about a quarter to half inch with the bumper and winch installed (about 170-180 lbs total).
I will have a CB. I will probably bring a couple of hand-held radios as well. That way those without CB can still communicate too.
Sorry about thinking it was an ARB. I was just looking at the small image. Where did you mount your CB and antenna? I have a small uniden that came out of my jeep and thought about getting the adapter that allows you to mount it under your stereo in the dash. But Im not sure where to mount the antenna. I actually thought about just getting a basic magnet mounted one and taking it off when not in use.

I originally had one of the Outdoor Logic antenna mounts that fits under the taillight and out of the way of the rear hatch. But, because the majority of the antenna is below the surface of the roof, the signal is significantly blocked and reduces performance. I have since sold that mount and am trying to decide what to do now. I've considered one of the short magnetic mounts for the roof or hood and remove it when I'm not wheeling. But, I may just mount the 4' Wilson Flex antenna I have to the front bumper so that it has a better "ground plane". That last option would be the most cost effective for me.
You're in the same boat as me. I had a firestik antenna on my jeep and was sort of rough when off roading because of its rigidity. Since I never really used the CB other than off road use, I thought about placing one of the magnet mounts on the top of the runner (cobra or k40) when riding and taking it off when not. Just haven't decided. I need to take my dash apart to swap out the cupholder anyway, so I may order the CB holder and put it in the dash at the same time.

I have the ARB on mine. No dip when I had it on the stock suspension. All 4 fenders measured exactly the same height.

Thats good to know. I havent decided when/if I'm going to put a winch bumper on, but was curious if there was any sag when doing so. My jeeps always had a winch, but I don't offroad the runner enough to determine if I need one or not. Thats a huge investment if its not really needed. What would be perfect would be if there were a front winch mount available that didnt require a new bumper (like a receiver mount for example).

Search around the build threads. I know someone fabbed a winch into their stock bumper, I just don't remember who. Just remember seeing it before.
