if you are going to spend the money for icon i would rather spend a lil more and get fox or kings. plus it helps to let us know why you are getting them.

I don't think anyone has them in the Bay and the only people I know of having them on the forum is Baja Runner and SIKHILUXSURF (spelling?). They seem to be satisfied with them.

On a side note, I still haven't seen your 4runner around town.

Icons on my runner

The reason i am upgrading is to run them in the desert on washboard at high speeds also utah has alot of sandstone ledges and washes also for a better ride on road over stock. I know that i would be running them only %10-15 off road but when i go off road i want controlled ride. I am looking at toytec as well but read that they fade quicker then the icons do. Some of the roads i would be on are miles of washboard. I probably wont lift more than 1-2 inches. I would like to stay closer to stock height.

@scrunner. Thanks for the heads up on other people in the area. What suspension do you have? Also, i was thinking of installing my front coilovers myself and the rears too. I have read that the rears are a PITA. Have you changed yours before? And is it worth it to just pay someone to do the rears? Also, i was thinking the same thing about not seeing ur runner either. I live near the buttery.

From what Baja Runner explained in another post the Icons were awesome in the desert stuff. He said the rock crawling was a little stiff, but right at home in washboard type situations. I think you can't go wrong with them and will ride nice on the streets as well. You could check out this guy for some good prices. I have the 5100's and Tundra TRD coils. I really like the setup, but kind of wish I could dial in the exact ride height I wanted. I can't complain since I only spent $200 for my entire front setup. The fronts are easier to put in IMO. The last time I did changed up the fronts it took me 30 mins to put them back in by myself. The rear took a while due to the stock shocks not wanting to unbolt, but it's not horrible. Just PB blast the bolts a week in advance and be prepared to cut the shocks off. I'd be more than willing help out with the install if you want. No need to pay someone as we have a few people close that are willing to help and we could get it done just the two of us in probably 4-5 hours for front and back. No wonder I haven't seen you, I live in Capitola by Gayle's and work in Watsonville. Unfortunately I don't make it over to the midtown all that much anymore. We'll have to get a Santa Cruz meet together as there are quite a few members on TacomaWorld from Santa Cruz as well.
