Anyone install a Westin bull bar on a 5th gen?

I have a 2014 Trail and was looking at the Westin bull bar, part# 31-5610, and found many reviews that state the mounts don't fit regardless that Westin says it will. The reviewers I found state that they have had to cut the mounts and or parts on the vehicle itself. Anyone have one on theirs and can comment before I purchase one?

I have to agree. Those things are ugly. I would have thought they would have completely gone out of fashion by now.

I had a bull bar on mine. It wasn't Westin but I believe brackets are the same. I would say it wasn't "plug & play" deal. You have to attach brackets to the frame and another bracket to the frame brackets. After that goes the bar. Also you have to cut out plastic to fit "second bracket" that goes under bumper and sticks out front to attach the bar. I believe that's how it was. After having it for a few months I decided that it looks better without it. Took off and sold it.

Thanks for the input guys. I was looking to get one as where I park at work there are lots of companies that park in the same lot. It seems to never fail that someone parks practically on top of my truck every day. I try to back in when I can but sometimes its not possible due to heavy traffic behind me as lots of us come in at the same time. I was trying to stop people from parking on top of my truck. Thanks guys for the input!

Exactly what does a bull bar do except catastrophic radiator damage when it bends like a wet noodle in a low speed impact?
