anyone near richmond

What's in Rockville? Are there a good selection of trails?

Does anyone know of other trails, outside of GWNF?

Theres small stuff in the laytonsville/damascus area but nothing exciting. Places in VA like Rausch creek, woodbridge and Gore is where i hear most people go to.

Just found this section of the forum. I'm located just east of Richmond

I live in Gloucester, went to Peter's Mill Run a coupe weeks ago. My 4Runner's first time wheeling. Shoe Creek is gated now, that was my favorite place to go when I had my jeep. Maybe we can get together before the summer is out and plan a trip..

Nice, I just sold my house and I'm in the process of buying. Maybe at the end of September we can get some people together for a trip to Peter Mill's Run...[emoji1303]

Hey I'm in Richmond near Short Pump. Hit me up if you want to hit some local trails... I don't know of any but I'm happy to join you if you do!

Dependable, independent shop in RVA

I'm a long time lurker on the forum and came across this thread. I am currently living in the tri city area. I have yet to get the symptoms properly diagnosed, but I don't have too high of hopes. I fear that I have a failing head gasket on my 2004 V6. Based on the pricing the dealer gives me I may or may not get it done there, if I can get referred to a reputable shop for this kind of job. Any suggestions?

What's up guys?
I'm a new 4Runner owner in Richmond. I'm down to meet up sometime...

In the meantime, can one of you guys recommend a good mechanic in the area (I'm new to Richmond)?

Thanks,
Devin

Can't speak to the 'mechanic thing' just yet (only been in the RVA area for 6 months) but for truck/4-wheel drive stuff there are a few options.

Truckin' Thunder has 2 locations, one in Midlothian the other on West Broad. Haven't used them.

4 Wheel Drive Specialty is on West Broad as well. They will be installing new tires and Bilstein's for me next Tuesday.

BTW - welcome to the hood. If you like beer there are a metric sh*t-ton of breweries in and around RVA.

Cool, thanks man. I'll look into those two and see if they might have some recommendations for mechanics.
re: breweries - No sh1t! There seem to be new places opening up every day. I'm really enjoying it here... cool city.

New 2003 Limited V8 owner that has been in the Richmond area for a long time. I don't know of any places to take our rigs off-road but I would be down to meet up and try some out.

Plus I would be happy ot help others out with stuff, I just have no tools and limited knowledge. But my arms work well.

Is everyone on here have Facebook? I was thinking of creating a page so we can all communicate and plan meet ups so on and so forth. Anyone interested?
