Wind sideways sway
Have you considered training wheels, like the ones you had on your first bike? :lmao:
Just kidding. Short of adding weight down low, like skid plates or big jugs of water on the floor, I can't think of anything that will reduce the affects of wind on the 4Runner. Any SUV is going to get blown around in a side wind. It's the nature of the vehicle. If you want good aerodynamics buy a sports car. With a high clearance vehicle you're always going to be affected by wind in an SUV.
Of course, they benefit from tail winds more than most sedans and sports cars. :bravo:

It's shaped like a small brick stacked on top of a larger brick so no, changing tires wont help unless you get tank treads or 495s.
The 4runner is a boxy SUV, much like the trailer on a big rig. You blast it with wind and it's gonna move. I doubt different tires will help that much. If that worries you then you should try riding a 400lb 1000cc super bike with 30mph winds while next to big rigs. That'll give you a scare lol.

What year do you have? I think the vortex generators on the 2014 and 2015s solved this problem .:bravo:

Nah, shocks will help though.
Stiffer shocks will help. Tires won't make a difference.

Side sway with KDSS
Yes, good point [MENTION=88975]Swarty[/MENTION]. Most people who add stiffer shocks are also adding height with a lift when they upgrade their shocks. The difference in stiffness may be overcome by a higher profile with little or no difference in sway in a side wind.
The stiffer anti-sway bars of the T4R with KDSS may help with side sway in a side wind. I don't know yet but will soon when my 4R comes in. I still won't be able to compare to a non-KDSS anti-sway bar though.
I have always had a high clearance or high profile vehicle. I slow down in high winds. If you don't you're asking for trouble. :fear:

I thought it was the consensus that the factory Castor Setting was the cause of the Wandering at Highway Speeds.

Out here in the Fortymile Desert the wind is always blowing. I'm always steering into the wind. Not a big deal as my previous truck (a 2004 Land Rover Discovery) was taller, boxier and and about the same weight as the 4Runner. It was worse in the wind - and I don't think its solid axles fore and aft helped either.....

I had the X5, Q7, Acura mdx and GX before the 15 4runner trail prem and they all feel the same nothing to crazy during a wind storm. The KDSS does help a lot imo.
