Anyone replace 245 60 20

Have about 26k, rotate every 5k, sidewalls r all looking worn down. I bumped up psi to 34 on all. We r spirited drivers.

Probably find an answer here. But why are sidewalls worn? Dry rot, taking corners too tight, or not aired up properly?

You will find many more options in 275/55R-20, and competition drives prices down.
Unfortunately, most manufacturers recommend at least a 7.5" rim for that size and your stock rims are 7.0". That said, many many people have installed 275/55R's on OEM Limited rims without issue. The biggest problem may be that some big-box tire places won't do it for liability reasons.

I'm a newbie to this forum, but was able to read the 65pgs for wheel fitment. Have a 14 Limited & he gave options in 275 55 20: 1-Conti Terrain contact A/T $950 installed minus $120 trade in (go 2456020), 2-Mich Premier LTX $1114-$120, or Mich Defense Ltx m/s $1250-$120. I do 95% hwy & am leaning Premier LTX. Also, what do you all do for spares? Thank you, will be sure to take b4 & after. Tire guy said will order 5th..incase it doesn't hang down too low. He still suggested keeping 2456020 go on spare.

I'm in the same boat and am comparing the same tires for my 15 Limited, also in 275/55r20. I would like try the Continental Terrain Contacts, but am concerned because the tread width looks really wide compared to others (from tire rack). I don't know if the rubbing that people get is from height or width.
I have Premier LTXs on my wife's Honda Pilot and have been really happy with them. Seem to be decent in the snow and in the wet and dry are great. They are also very light, = to the OEM Yokos I have. That should mean no change in MPGs. If you're leaning towards the Premiers, that's definitely what I would do. I had LTXs on my old Lexus GX and those were also great tires. I traded that truck in with 45K miles on the tires and they had a ton of life left. I was leaning towards the contis just to try something new and to have a little more off road capability. The contis on my Audi S4 have been the best tires I've used and with 250K miles, I've been through 6 different sets!
Oh...and my folks live in Lancaster and I used to live in Lititz. In Frederick, MD now.

I've strayed from factory recommend tire size over the years on various vehicles with good and bad results, so anymore stay close to factory recommendation on stock rims. Had thought for a year or so I'd like to put 275's on the runner but was concerned about issues I might have as a result ; $ 1,000.00 on something I wouldn't be happy with. So it's been a little over two months now on Bridgestone Dueler Alenza Plus 275/55-20 111H. Mine is a limited with stock suspension and couldn't be happier ! No rubbing, quiet, comfortable ride with no issues. When they were getting mounted up, to see the two tires side by side ( factory 245/60-20 684 II's vs new tires ) they look massive. As many others have stated, the 275 looks perfect on a stock suspension 4Runner. Looked at many tires & brands but really wanted to go with Bridgestone since I've always been partial to them. I've had Michelins's on motorcycles and a couple cars and you really can't go wrong with a upper end Michelin but they get kind of pricey. Guess you have to figure what you're looking for in a tire and how soon you'll be replacing them . The slight extra cost may be fairly irrelevant. I priced the LTX but they were going to be over $50.00 more per tire and I kind of set a limit as to what I was going to spend on tires. Had a local shop dismount, mount, spin balance & discard old tires for $ 780.00 out the door. All smiles with my tire decision !!!

Resurrecting an old thread. I ended up putting 275/55-20 Continental TerrainContact's on my 2015 Limited. They look great, but somewhat surprisingly, I have minor running at full lock on the ridge in the middle of the front fender liners. It should be an easy fix, but wanted to throw it out there.
