Anyone running 255/75r17?

I was able to fit a Cooper ST Maxx 255/80R17 (32.8") aired down and barely clear the panhard bar with less than a 1/2 of an inch for a V6 with factory tow hitch. 255/75R17 Duratracs (32") will clear a bit more.

BFG K02 255/75/R17 fits the spare without issues fully aired up on a V6.
There maybe a slight difference if you account for the v6 vs v8 trailer hitch
Mine fits in the 2003 v8--but with the v6, non-frame-mounted heavy duty hitch.

It was a conundrum for sure on whether I wanted to spend hard-earned money on something as trivial as paint...I am glad I made that decision as iot makes the 4runner complete and factory+!

I have enjoyed my Hankook Dynapros in this size. See lift info below. I did not mount them until I was lifted so see other posts for info on that. One thing I was going for when getting bigger tires was to watch the weight, these tires are really close to stock tire weight, where the BFG or other tires were almost double per tire. I use my car like 50/50 trail/street so not dragging ass was an important factor. If you had a more trail oriented build I would say go for the BFGs simply because they have a sturdier design. I also use ATRAC often out here in the desert wheeling around and I theorize it is easier on my brakes and components when this activates with a lighter tire with less rotating mass. All of that equipment is designed with the OEM tires, so I imagine you might add more wear and tear if you used ATRAC with 35in BFGS.
I see a lot of positive votes for 255/80, I thought about it but a buddy of mine who wheels quite a bit and travels long distance said they dragged ass and it wasn't worth the small difference in lift.

What's the offset on those rims? Hopefully moving to 255/85/16 soon but also need to move from the stock rims.
I’ve looked, but get conflicting info. Has anyone measured the 255/80r17 cooper’s height mounted on a vehicle ? I’m running 285/70r17 duratracs and they measure 31.5” tall. Wanting to go a bit larger on my next set. Leaning towards 255/80’s. Not concerned about rubbing, I’ve already trimmed fenders and done a body mount chop.

I've had excellent luck with a 255/75/17
Also +1 on spare tire fitment, no problems here either.
No rubbing from full lock to lock.
Even if I go taller in the future, I will probably stick with a 255
This is stock suspension? About to buy some nice used 245/75r17's for my wifes new used 4runner. I am hoping they fit.

Thanks, we refer to goldie as “old man gold”. Geriatric at heart but wears hiking shoes.
The suspension isn’t stock… it’s got an approx. 2.5” lift using:
Bilstein 6112 front (one down from the highest perch setting)
Bilstein 5100 rear
OME 2895 rear springs
Wheelers Superbumps front and rear
¼” spacer on driver side to correct lean

I just picked up an 03 LImited that the prevoius owner insisted I keep the family name of Blue Jello! lol.
Just scored a set of 245/75r17 Michelin LTX M/S2 for $350 on craigslist with 1800 miles on them from a 2019 Jeep Wrangler.
I HOPE THEY FIT lol.
UPDATED: A year later and they running real good still, no rub. Ready to go bigger now though : )

I just put bilstein 5100s on the front with stock coils. I set them on the third from the bottom (about 2'' of lift in the front) and want to get a new set of tires. Would I be okay with 255/75R17 BFG ATs?? or will I get a lot of rub?

You should be fine. if you look at my build thread, I swapped my xreas to new FJ suspension and added 255/75/17. Then I got FJ wheels with different offset which help with the stance so the 255/75/17 doesn't look so skinny. ALSO picked up these tires as a jeep take off so it was practically free. With this set up I get about 1 inch lift and I am roughly 1 inch away from rubbing in the front when I turn. SO from your 2 inch suspension lift you should not have any trouble with this size tire nor from the aggressive lug pattern.
