Anyone running a throttle body spacer on their 4.7L V8?

I saw an add in a Toyota off-road magazine for an aFe throttle body spacer for 4.7L V8 Toyota trucks. I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with them and what their thoughts were. It seems like a cost effective way to add 5-10 pony's and would be pretty easy to install.

All it will do is make a small whistling noise and make a good paper weight once you take it out. In newer engines like ours they literally have zero effect.

Good to know. These claim to not make the whistling noise, but if they don't add that much performance I guess I won't bother. That's probably why you don't hear much about them.

I agree with Blair. With a carb or throttle body injection they may help. With a SFI system like we have a throttle body spacer will do little to nothing except make noise.

If anyone claims and substantiates gains what's happening is the throttle body spacer is cooling the throttle body slightly allowing a minimal improvement in the density of the charge. Truthfully bypassing the coolant line that goes to the throttle body would do more than a spacer on a SFI engine.

That was my suspicion. We'll put the throttle body spacer on the list of things not to buy. That puts the rock sliders back on the top of my list.

I have yet to hear from anybody who runs a TB spacer say it made a noticeable difference. Most who have them say they wouldn't waste their money again.
