Anyone running E rated tires?

I just bough new BF Goodrich AT's E load range. Was worried about them being to harsh but so far I am pretty happy with how smooth they are after replacing my Duratracks at 45k. Would the C range really ride that much better? Curious as to who else are running these tires and what their experience is. Switched out the stock sport rims for 2016 trails and pulled the spacers off finally.

ive had my E load ko2's for about 30k now. no complaints, theyre solid and ill get another set when these finally go. the tread is starting to look low, but im sure i could get at least another 10k out of them easy.
 
Went from P265/70/17 (42lbs) to LT255/80 E rated (55lbs) and took a huge hit on MPG. I miss the days of 400 miles on a tank :( But they sure are tough!!!

I just got KO2 in an E rated tire. I personally wouldn't have gotten E rated but I plan on using mine on a lot of rocky trails so I wanted the tougher thicker tire more than a smooth ride. I feel a difference compared to stock tires but not enough to care.

I'd be more worried about the extra weight of an E rated tire than anything else and would really only get it if you plan on using it.
 
I tow for camping but can get C rated tires that will do 60k miles and are lighter than an E series tire that are more than capable for the forest roads I drive.
If I ever got a camper that needed an E series tire to tow with I sadly wouldn't be driving a Toyota any more.

That being said I seriously thought about it before deciding against it because I always like to choose the most durable tires when it comes to towing since I do it so often.

E rated BFG KO2 here too. I run a lot of trails and chose these after finding the DuraTrac sidewalls are weak and got tired of replacing them. I was surprised to find these are much quieter on the pavement too though that will change as they wear.

Extra weight? Yes. MPG drop? Yes. Do I care? No.

I think the size may have a bigger hit than weight. My 275s are 60lbs each and I get about 18.6 mpgs adjusted for the size difference. I don't run it to 400miles per tank, but I could get there if I wanted to.

Man I have to figure out why my MPGs is so bad...I get around 10-14 MPG. The best I've seen is 17 mpg before the tires on a long road trip ( just got the t4r a couple months ago) but that's for another thread.
 
Currently running E rated BFG Rugged Trails that were on the vehicle when I bought it. I like them comfort wise, but the black portion of the sidewall is flaking off. Drove it for several months before I realized they were E's and was surprised, since the last E's I had were Duratracs on my 3rd gen and they were way to firm for my liking.

Lol...like this response alot. I am digging these tires so far even though they are a bit firm on the road. However I work from home and do play offroad on some pretty rocky trails so will most likely stick with them. I can take it in within 30 days and swith to the Load C if I want so I have some time to decide. They ride pretty nice hough compared to the duratracs I finally got fed up with.
 
I run E rated General Grabber AT2s.

I once went offroading with a Subaru Forester that had C rated Grabbers that were newer than mine. He popped a tire over one section of particularly sharp rock.

I didn't.

Justification enough for me.

That said, he also didn't have a clue what he was doing.
 
I went E rated for the peace of mind on rocky trails in Colorado, got a small puncture in my previous tires non-E tires.

Wish they weren't as heavy as they are, but otherwise the ride is great.
 
My tires are E-rated Bridgestone Revo 2s. They're considerably lighter than other E-rated tires. For size 265/70/17, they weigh about the same as a C-rated KO2 and about 7 lbs less than an E-rated KO2. I've driven the truck across some pretty sharp/rocky stuff... so far so good.
 
I went from 265/70/17 BFG KO2 load range C to ST Maxx in 255/80/17. The ride is only marginally stiffer at 35 psi and my mpg didn't really change. I do a lot of cruising at 55-60 mph and at that speed the mpg didn't really change, I can still easily get 20 mpg. As for overall power, yes I can tell the ST Maxx are heavier and taller but it's nothing I can't live with.

I am running E rated 285-70-17 BFG rugged terrians on mine. they came off my cummins I sold,don't regret it. they will never wear out from weight!
 
So I went to check the tire pressure thinking I would try running them at a bit lower psi but found they are currently at 35psi. Is that what E's should be on a 4runner? Was expecting them to be much higher so curious as to what pressure you guys who have them are running at? Discount did order me the C load so I still have time to make a decision...
