Anyone Running ome 885 (setup with tundra billie 5100s) on 3RD gen Runner

Hello there,

I have a steel bumper + winch setup on 97 hilux/4runner. Plan to add a skid plate in future. I wonder whether II could run ome 885 in front.I know that 883/882s are preferable, but i got good deal on 885s locally.

885s are actually of the same characteristics as 883, but 20 mm higher.
I have 2 inch lift and dont plan to go any higher than that. in rear I have got LC 80 front springs and rear shocks.

Stick with the 882's.

885's are too tall. 20mm taller spring would equal about an extra 1.5 inches of lift compared to a 883 which is already a 3 inch lift spring with extra weight.

Based on reviews I assume they sag a lot after 15-20 k miles, with my setup.That's why I primarily chose 883.Fi you guys know anybody on 3rd gen with 885 throw a link down here, I have been searching desperately but could not find anything on the net

I checked with cruiseroutfits and 883 and 885 are identical other than 885 is 20mm longer, how about shortening them,huh?

Why not just buy some 883's that are the correct length?

You won't be able to easily shorten the coils. you can't cut any off the bottom since the coil diameter gets narrower at the bottom and the top of the coil is machined flat so if you cut any off, the coil won't sit correctly against the top mount.
