anyone running the Tundra/Seqouia wheels on their 3rd Gen?

My adventures - Tundra 17's
Here's my little story/adventure.
I was about to pull the trigger to get new tires (Firestone Destination AT's 265-70-16) for my standard 16 inch wheels until I saw this thread get resurrected.
Here's my new-to-me 1998 4runner limited.
After looking at the pictures in this thread I decided these were by far my favorite wheel setup I've seen. So I did a search to see if I could find any locally on CL's. Low and behold I found a beat up set 30 miles from me. He was asking $200 but we agreed to $150 and I was supposed to pick them up the next day. The next day I was running late and I decide to hold off getting gas. When I met up with the seller I saw the wheels were flaking more than I hoped but I figured they would need to painted anyway.
On my way home I decided to push my luck a little. I had 290 on the trip odometer, with 15 miles to go. The low fuel light usually turns on by 250 and I figured I had 4 more gallons to go. My ultra-guage (which I love) shows that I'm averaging around 18.5 mpg. Using conservative, quick math of 18 mpg x 18 gallons (I know it's supposed to be 18.5 gallons) I figured I should be able to get 324 miles to the tank. Unfortunately the 4runner ran out of gas at 301 miles, 4 miles away from home. That's the first time I've ever ran out of gas ever. Luckily for me someone was around to get me gas.
That's my story.
I thank everybody on this forum who shares their stories and experiences. I check this site now religiously.
Now I need to decide 265-70-17 or bigger. Anybody know how this affected their speedo? I'll be doing my research.. but just curious since we're on the topic of Tundra wheels.

Snagged a beat up set, refinished with rustoleum steel color, no gloss. 295/70r17 Nitto Trail Grapplers
Refinishing them is a snap, once you realize sanding them down to metal is a huge PITA.

I've always liked these wheels but have never wanted to get a set of them till I saw them on jacob7071 rig. Let see some more 4runners with these wheels!

If you want OEM, I have 2 or 3 sitting at the house that came with these that I may sell you - I'll see if I can locate them tonight and let you know. When I picked up my wheels, one of the center caps was broken so I went with a new aftermarket set and had vinyl decals made for them.

I got mine for 250, but I think I was very lucky. I keep an eye on the area cl for 4Runner stuff, and when I do see a set - which is rare, and they don't last long - they are usually 300-400. A set came up near me last week at 300, but somebody snagged them shortly after they were listed.

Picked mine up for 350 with tires on cl. I was doing searches for tundra and sequoias and got lucky.

I've bought about 5 sets so far. First ones were $180, $150, $80 with tires, $200 and $100. All the standard silver color and some varying condition.

Same here in Phoenix area, they tend to get snapped up from CL right away. I am on at minimum 5 days a week looking for 4runner parts.
I am looking for a set now, since I missed out on the Estate Sale 3 weeks back that had a set of 4, and some tire dealer had a set of take-offs about 2 weeks ago.
These are really nice looking wheels. Love the look, and want a set myself!

I saw your post that you were looking for tundra wheels. I'm in socal too. I'm getting ready to put these in the classifieds. I was going to ask for 400 for rims and tires. The tires are falkens in 265/70/17. I'd say that they have about half their tread left. Let me know if your interested. If not I'm going g to put them up for sale. Here are some pics.
