Anyone running Tundra 5100s and Toytec/Eibach Springs?

Got a few questions..

anyone running the tundra bilstein 5100s with toytec eibach lift springs? impressions?
I see a few with the tacoma and eibach lift, how do you guys like it?

Also just for referece, if i order the Tundra bilstein 5100s other then moving my stock top hat over is there anything i need to buy or alter to have them bolt up?

I have the tacoma 5100s with eibach coils and I love them they are a little stiff but that's cause they are a 650 lb coil made for extra weight of an aftermarket bumper and I am still running my stock bumper

Oh wow I didn't expect them to be stiff with the tacoma 5100s...
Hmm I have no bumper as well. Maybe OME setup might work out better

did you ever find out how the tundra 5100's and toytec springs worked up front?
I upgraded to tundra 5100's awhile ago, running on my '99 talls and now I just ordered the toytec springs. Dont know how its going to turn out.

I have the Tundra 5100's with the Eibach coils up front, also running a 1/4" toytec top spacer with them with the 5100's on the 1st perch. Previously I had the TRD Tundra coils with my 5100's on the 3rd perch. I like the Eibach's much better, they give me more lift to match my 8 wraps in the rear and ride much better than TRD's but that is because the 5100's are on the 1st perch. They are stiff but not too stiff, also I have no extra weight up front.

The 5100's/Eibachs really soften up after about 5k miles. I love my truck's setup now ... lightyears' better ride then when I first got the truck.

I agree, I am running the bilstein 5100s and Eibach springs i have put a little over 6k on my runner since the lift and it drives great. a LIL stiff in the front but it could just be the fact that i need to change the control arm bushing in the front!!!:cry2: which is gonna be a pain in the arrsee....

I am kinda curious as to way, you its suggested to only run those springs on the 1st perch....i would really love to put mine on the 2nd perch for a lil more lift but Toytec doesnt recommend it?? always confused me...

Thats exactly what im running, and have to admit they running very smooth.

I have the adjustable CoilOver with the eibach's, and OME 892 & 5150 rear.

But looking to get an additional 1 or 2 in the front.

I spoke with someone at toytec last week, who i believe is part of the management there. she, yes she, was amazingly knowledgable. she mentioned that the toytec / eibach springs can be placed on the middle (2nd) position. we'll see, my springs and control arm bushing set come in tomorrow!

The middle perch would be for the Tacoma version, they have 3 positions. The Tundra ones have 5 positions. Each perch on the Tundra's yields .65" of lift but would yield more than that with these Eibach coils. I would think you'd be at or over 4 inches of lift in the front which could be very bad for cv's and such. Correct me if I'm wrong.

also when you guys say eibach coils. is this the one for sale under the 3rd gen 4runner section or the tundra section?

For the few that followed this and those that find this I have an update:
My current setup

Tundra billies have 5 notches, I'm on the 3rd and considering 4th (edited: 3rd pushing it, 4th tooo much)
Toytec / Eibach coils
about 23.75" up front (edited 1/23)
no weight up front yet
LC fj80 7.5/8 wraps on rears
about 24.25" (edited 1/23)

That's set a little high. Toytec doesn't recommend putting them on any other clip setting but the bottom. If you have them set on the bottom setting you will still be at 3" of lift (23" center of hub to fender) and it will ride a lot smoother. How much down travel do you have with it set on the 3rd setting?

I just got the toytec/eibachs mounted on my tundra 5100s about a week ago. I'm sitting at just over 23" hub to fender and the ride is much better than my TRD Tundra coils on the second perch (toytecs are on the first perch). I also have weight on the front end in the form of skids and an ARB.

Sounds like there was some miscommunication going on there.

Eibach coils give 3 inches on the bottom clip setting on both the Tundra 5100's and the Taco 5100's. They should ONLY be run on the bottom setting with either shock.

Now lets say you have a bumper, winch, skids, sliders, dual battery, hang 200lbs of lead off your front bumper, and have a V12 swap. Then i can see going up to the 2nd clip setting on the TUNDRA 5100's. The Taco 5100's will still be too high.

Ok that might have been an exaggeration but you get the point.

The main thing you want to remember is not to go over 3-3.5 inches of lift. If you do, you are going to be very close to the extension limit of the shock, you will be putting a lot of stress on your upper and lower ball joints, and you will go through CV boots every time you start the truck.

Like sn0wrunner said, An easy way to figure out how much lift you have is to measure from the center of the wheel up to the fender lip. Stock 3rd gens are about 20 inches so if you are at 23 inches, you have about 3 inches of lift.

I would lower it down to 23-23.5 from center of the hub to the fender ASAP.

Keep in mind this info is for the 3rd gen and 1st gen Taco's. 4th gen 4Runners, 2nd gen Taco's, and FJ's will use the Eibach with the 5100's on the 2nd clip to get the 3 inch mark
