Anyone with 2004 NAV

My '04 was built in 10/03 and I bought it on 1/7/04. In popping out the NAVI DVD its a .03 release. Kinda doubt theres a 04 version out there already. Route guideance? hmmm, if I understand what you mean by this then yes. My 04 has guideance on all know (identified) streets in addition to the highways.
My DVD version is .02.1 Mine only gives me route guidance on major highways, in other words it only highlights your route on the major highways, if your destination is on a country road, you have to use the guided arrow, and the voice navigation lady states that route guidance cannot be provided in these areas. It sounds as though they may have upgraded the route guidance with the version you have, I think its more important to have route guidance on back roads than it is on major highways. I contacted Toyota about this last fall and they told me there was an update for the NAV system, they just couldn't tell me what was new with the update. I like to know what I'm getting when I spend $200 + for a update.

I have a new 04 Limited V8 with a Nav system. I live in somewhat of a rural area and the voice route guidence does not extend beyond the main roads in my area. All local streets appear to be mapped, but voice info is only on the main streets.

Well, I just updated to the newest map dvd ver 03 , and the route guidance is still only available on main highways, not rural areas in my location, there are some new minor features with the new version, and road changes have been updated, until they have full route guidance coverage on all roads, upgrading is definitely not worth it.
